"Oregon may be headed to a fifth straight BCS bowl game, but it's not the game the Ducks had in mind when the season started.

And two high-profile players weren't shy this week about expressing their disappointment.

"I don't want to play in a Rose Bowl unless I'm playing for a national championship," wide receiver Josh Huff told reporters Monday."

""It's not a big deal at all," Thomas told reporters. "We already won a Rose Bowl, so it feels like, 'Whatever.'"

Re: Two Oregon players not interested in regular Rose Boel

I think some of our players felt that way going into the Sugar Bowl against Utah. It's understandable, but the coaches better get their minds right.

Do you have to spell "bowl" as "boel" in your title, so one of us has to correct your thread title? Any replies better to be to me via PM...

It can happen to anyone. We need to continue to focus on the game in front of us, or it can happen again.

Not a fan of Oregon, but got a chuckle from the players saying "big whup-de-do" about playing in the high and mighty Rose Bowl.

I understand the driving emotion behind the statements - disappointment in themselves for not being in a position to play for something more this year. But I think that these players need to learn to enjoy the opportunities still in front of them instead of lamenting those that are behind them. This type of statement shows a real lack of maturity.

They're going to be some unhappy people later in life, too - one of the greatest things sports taught me was to enjoy the opportunities I had rather than being upset at what I didn't have.

Sort of like Florida having to play Louisville last year or when Miami had to play Bama for the NC in 93 (I think), Bama doesn't deserve the opportunity to play Miami. We all know how those games turned out.

Well, they still have a shot at the Alamo Bowl. If I were them, I wouldn't get ahead of myself. I think that already happened once this year.
