Excellent job thus far by CAG; our team is playing tough and in every game. If we can do a better job recruiting, I think we'll be very good. Is this game on TV?

Well, not really a bad effort tonight. I kind of figured it might go like this...we play pretty good and keep the score around 10 or less...but never really be a threat to pull the upset. Oh well...

Gotta make some of those layups...... we played em tough for the most part though.
Yeah they missed some point blank shots and some layups on the break. They were too scared of getting blocked. Just go up strong and go to the line, but the line hasn't necessarily been there strong point.

I was very proud of their effort last night. Kentucky never could shake our guys. They hung in there and played hard and physical. I did notice that we had ZERO free throw attempts in the first half. Interesting.

As pointed out last night by Doug Segrest at the Shelby County Alumni Association, let's not forget that this is essentially the same team that finished strong last year under Coach Pearson.

They continue to play solid defense. If/when CAG gets some offensive power those 1-10 point losses become wins. To think that we have played some really good teams decently close while continuing to have scoring dry-spells lasting 5-7 minutes per half points directly to our defense and IMO, CAG getting the most he can out of very average (and that could be generous) players.

The turn around in our defense from last year to this year is amazing. Last year UK scores at will on us, but this year our D hung tough and kept us in the game. If we hit the looks we had downlow we win that game. Definitely something to build on though.

We left way to many points on the court by not executing on fastbreak opportunities and missing point blank shots under the basket. That, combined with the large discrepancy at the foul line (Bama was 9-10, UK was 19-31) meant doom for the Tide. The only chance we had of winning the game was if UK had an off night and we played nearly flawless basketball. UK cooperated and had an off night, but we played far from flawless basketball. Unfortunately, because of the talent discrepancy between UK and Bama and the home court advantage, even though neither team played particularly well it still meant a ten point win for the Wildcats. UK gave us a chance, but we failed to take advantage of it. Like so many other times this year, we lost a game we should have won.

Now we'll see if we can turn that 12 point loss in Fayetteville into a win in Tuscaloosa.

UK will replace Wall and Cousins with another Wall and Cousins. We WILL be better. Yeah, we will beat them next year :).
