I shall continue my rant: Beck got his money because imaleaveya got that 8 million dollar deal OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL. He’s put up Payton Thorn numbers and wants Peyton Manning money.

I’m glad this finally happened. I hope the Tennessee state troopers write him tickets for being stupid until he gets out of the state.

I flimflamming expect an 18 year old kid to be happy with 2.4 million dollars and not be the dumbest moron of morons and kill his own golden goose.

If this wasn’t his bright idea I hope he shoves his foot so far up that person’s rear that they burp rubber and shoelaces for a year.

This was the dumbest idea in history. How can you not be happy with an 8 million dollar NiL contract?
I mentioned this in another thread but the families of these athletes, many times, are vultures. They view "your success" as "my success" and demand to get their greedy hands on the money. If it were Nico's and Nico's alone, 2 million is a life changer. The fact that daddy was so adamant that he get more money just goes to show you what I am talking about.

Nico will realize what he messed up in a few years when he is like the rest of us and busting his you know what to try and make ends meet to pay rent and get groceries. Unfortunately for him, he is probably in the same situation that many of these young people are in and are surrounded by people in their family who aren't giving them the best advice in the world.

That's why UNC feels like the perfect fit. Belichick is not going to mind this sort of thing. It's the whole reason he decided to give college a try in the first place. I don't know that they can afford to pay him $4M, but that ship may have sailed for him. He will end up probably having to take less money, but may end up in a better situation. If he lights up the ACC, then he'll be a top 5 pick next spring.
With Michael Lombardi as the GM at UNC, I can guarantee he will try to get him on the cheap and sell him "you're playing for the greatest coach in NFL history". If he doesn't do that, he's not a good GM.

He agreed to a 4 year, 8 million deal with Tennessee, was the rumor. Well, he was the person rumored to have agreed to the deal. He lost more than 2 million.

That is for sure an element at play.

But he still made a bone head decision fueled by greed either his family’s or his own.

He could have made $8Million before the age of 21-22 and would have been set for life.

He may or may not be good enough for the NFL but with $8 Million he’d be fine without a pro career.

Just full on ignorance and greed.

Are you just guessing, or did I miss the part about Daddy?

I haven’t seen it reported in this case but Samoan families culturally are all up in their kid’s business until well into adulthood.

They are very patriarchal and when it comes to sports are the template of a Helicopter parent.

CNS had to deal with it during the 2017 season over the QB situation.

Thankfully the portal and NIL didn’t exist then.

If his dad wants him back on the west coast I’d imagine ucla is the landing spot if he’ll take a smaller pay. Or a contract loaded with incentives. My guess when I first heard it was fsu tho. They have it and are desperate after last seasons debacle

Greed!

It's obvious that this was motivated by family....

Belichick isn't going to risk loosing his girlfriend to someone on the team making more money than he is.

I've seen some stuff on Instagram that alludes to his dad being the one behind all of this. Granted, it's social media, so take it for what it's worth. But when this type of money comes into play, parents normally get involved, whether with good intentions or bad. I know if my kid was a 19 year old football player getting $2.4mm per year, I'd definitely get involved so he wouldn't go spend it all on sour gummies and Dr. Pepper.

Desperation can make you do most anything. UCLA is the current guess at a landing spot from what I’m reading. He’s gonna have to take a pay cut which should reset his value and expectations etc. truly ute brought this on themselves trying to buy a 5 star outta high school with guaranteed money. How many 5 star qbs are a total bust? Absolutely moronic behavior by Tenn resetting the whole market and changing the rules thru the courts to do it. They deserve a 100 losing seasons for that alone
