Nah, it’s time to be done with this era of “Career college players”
so he thinks his JUCO time shouldn't count and his redshift year shouldn't count so how many more years does he think he "deserves"?
So he wants to redshirt next year? I don't get that part.
What's next? Players allege that going to class ("college athlete" is already a farce, let's face it) limits their time to compete for a starting job, thus limiting their NIL potential?
That’s what I’m saying man. These players got used to the Covid year, and they just think they can stay in college forever. I mean…Tua was our starting QB when Cam Rising started college. TUA! We have had 3 separate starting QBs since then, and he has yet another year after this one…

Something similar happened with Taulia this past offseason. His first year was 2019 and he played in five games. As we all know, 2020 doesn’t count, and then he played in 2021-2023. That’s four years of eligibility used up (five counting 2020) and he was like “PLEASE don’t make me leave college!”

Heh, happy accident. In his defense, he could have redshirted in 2019 if he had played one less game (snap?). Still, he was the starter in a P5 conference for four years. Bro…you’re done…leave.
Entirely possible. When you remove the student part of student athlete, why even require them to attend classes or be a student?
Fundamentally, Pavia is saying that the NCAA has no say in who’s eligible and who’s not.
So yes, if Pavia wins his suit, your scenario could easily play out.
Further potential fallout if Pavia wins: Players (like Pavia) who are good college players, but not necessarily good NFL prospects, can stay in college forever making pay-for-play money.
It’s not NFL money, but that’s not a realistic option for them. And it’s more than they could make in a working schmo’s 8-5 job.
So let's hope Pavia doesn't win. Though with the NCAA's track record in the courts, I'm not optimistic.

This screams of “I know I can’t play in the professional ranks so I’m going to try and stay in college making NIL money as long as I can”. He may be thinking he can turn this run at Vandy into a paying gig somewhere else.
Some had mentioned in earlier discussions about the way NIL and portal was going that one possible outcome is the sports teams and universities disconnect completely. The only link maybe being the use of school copyrights and leasing school facilities. Players would no longer need to be students.
I believe this will be the final outcome. We will have the Alabama Crimson Tide Football Club playing in a league where paid players attending school will be optional.
