below 30 or so, i just can't keep my fingers and toes warm while riding and after about an hour, it starts being a real pain. i was using heavy, windproof winter biking gloves and lined neoprene booties over my shoes and had hand warmers shoved in both.I once rode about the same distance to work, into a north wind and freezing rain.
