Question: What does the fan turnout look like for A-day?

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

From RBR:

Good crowd with the gates only being open for about 19 minutes. Bit warm but thats to be expected. Should be a good crowd i know getting around Tuscaloosa this morning was a bit of a bother but that only means we’ll have a good crowd. I’m pretty confident that there are at least 92,000 people in town but the question is will they make their way to the stadium.

Any update on the crowd inside the stadium now? Wyoming weather is depressing today and I'm stuck at work. Anyone that is there, keep us posted. You are my lifeline to happiness at the moment!:BigA:

The word is that BDS is packed. Whether or not it is a sellout remains to be seen.

Welcome to a crowded A-Day 2010 at the University of Alabama | al.com
The weather is warm and sunny. The lower bowl at Bryant-Denny Stadium is almost full, and fans are spilling into the upper deck and have been for a while now.

The previous teams captains have been honored. Coach Nick Saban is sporting the suit. The national media is here. So are ESPN cameras.

Yes, it's time for the A-Day Game at the University of Alabama.

Glad to hear there is a good crowd. I should would like to break that record next year. Take tons of pics and send our way! ROLL TIDE :BigA:

ESPN folks saying 92,000. May just be speculation, haven't heard anything official. Looks full on my TV...and that AJ to Trent TD wasn't half bad.

My bro-in-law called me from the north endzone upper deck and said that people were coming up there looking for seats. He said there were none to be found.

92k+. To the fans that made it, and those that couldn't...Great Job!

I'm not sure how they counted but it was full. Just got back to the room and I'm curious what the University has to say. Great turnout and RTR.

I'd add a bit to what's been reported... The band entered through a gate where they weren't counting and I heard that hundreds of people came in with us that should have been counted. Witnessed a bunch of them myself... I couldn't understand why they weren't counting US, since that adds 500+ with all the high school kids that joined us. Anyway, it was a GREAT turnout!!

It was packed. I believe the listed attendance was only short of capacity due to the expansion. There were seats in the south endzone that would have been available had it not been for the stadium expansion. I don't believe it was quite as big as the turnout from '07, but it was easily capacity + IMHO.

Thank you!! That's what I was thinking. Some seats that were available in 2007 were not today. We couldn't make it, but RAIN OR SHINE we will be there in 2011 to help set a new record!!!! ROOOOLLLLLL TIDE!!!

Plus-we did watch it on ESPN and I am SO PUMPED!! Ready for some football......
