Ya know, I know dude is a valued member here and evidently quite a few read his stuff, but that piece smacks of pure black helicopters. Just my opinion, as I'm sure, that piece also is his. No hard feelings, GCT.

YES! FINALLY! THIS is the new element. There has never before been a federal case that was supposed to reveal damaging information on AU.

Now I'm convinced.
Now, Hamilton... at no time in that entry did I say there was a federal case that is supposed to reveal damaging information on AU.

Please read what I write carefully, because I write it very carefully.

The entire gist of that post is that there could be grounds for an honest services fraud case and I've had more than one attorney tell me so. That doesn't mean that there is a case or that there will be.

The story is drawing a lot of attention and I'm just providing another angle.

The question is whether Roy Adams pushes the local law to pursue that avenue? :cool2:

Here's a small bio on the great coach Byron DeVinner. Folks have questioned his credibility, and I don't blame them.

Link

I have been wondering why D'Vinner is so mad at MSU to be calling them out like he has. Surely, he's run into boosters who pay for things like rooms and meals. Surely he's seen or known of many $100 handshakes. It appears he is trying to stir the pot, to escalate the damage to MSU.

I've seen where he said the MSU coach who resigned asked him to say he introduced Redmond to the MSU disassociated booster. I doubt this offended him so bad he felt compelled to make things right.

Sure, it can be said that he only answered the NCAA's questions. It just looks to me that he wants MSU to take the heat for what comes of the Memphis fiasco. If I'm right, wonder why?

Because he interviewed for a job at MSU and was not hired? That's what it seems like to me.

Sure, it could happen, but it is unlikely at best. I don't blame you for what you are doing - which is driving hits to your site using "another angle" on a controversial subject - but unless someone has told you that this is going to happen, this is not a story. It is pure speculation, and it is nothing new. We discussed that it could be possible for the counselor(s) to have charges brought against them weeks ago. This is reminiscent of the same type "stories" you wrote during Camgate that amounted to nothing. Nothing personal, but it comes off as an obsessed fan of a rival throwing crap against the wall hoping it will stick.

DeVinner either didn't get paid and he is spewing this..........or he got paid to spew this.

But by who? :cool2:

Yeah maybe he's simply that vindictive. Nobody knows his motives but himself, but publically pointing out small offenses about what a booster does is no way to get "brownie points" on his next resume. IMO he has branded himself as a trouble maker and nobody likes them. Maybe he didn't think it out well? Or maybe some other motivation that would make him becoming a trouble maker worth it?

I think De'Vinner has a sense of pride, feels betrayed, and has a lot less to lose than those that want him to take the blame for the misdeeds of boosters and athletes, if not universities.

No offense taken whatsoever. I developed a very thick skin years ago. :cool2:

But in all honesty, about 10% of my content is Auburn-related. There is probably more Penn State stuff in the last year than stuff on the boogs.

Another thing I steer clear from is making predictions. The rare times I've gone out on that limb, I ended up on the ground with multiple contusions, lacerations and blunt force trauma injuries.

There are two topics that are always sure to drive interest and discussion--recruiting and scandals at rival schools. If you happen upon a subject that includes both, it's like scoring with a pair of HAWT twins.

Yep, scandal sells and is definitely interesting and fun. And this is a messgase board, without opinions there would be very little to read. Most of us have jobs and lives that take our time away from being journalists, private investigators and detectives.

Yes, and anything that keeps the boogs occupied and worried takes more time away from them thinking up newer Operation Red Dog theories.

They're not good multitaskers, so dealing with an imploding season AND a recruiting scandal has them really, really busy.

De'Vinner back at it again this morning... on 97.3 the Zone....

Matt Scalici ‏@MattScalici
DeVinner: "I worked five years undercover for DEA and FBI in Birmingham as an informant."

DeVinner: "The $60K offer to Redmond was NOT from a school in Alabama. It was not Alabama or Auburn."

DeVinner: "The NCAA has never talked to me about Auburn. I don't know anything about Auburn."

Lol - there's no arguing that. For the record, I HOPE your theory ends up being spot on!
