What is the Deal with Caylee Anthony's Father?

During the trial, I heard very little about Caylee Anthony's dad. What I did hear was that he died in a car wreck. I did a little looking today and found that no one knows who Caylee's dad is.

One article said that Casey didn't know she was pregnant until 7 months along, and the pregnancy came from a one night stand/fling. Other reports are that Caylee's father died in a car wreck in 2007. Caylee dies in 2008, and the man that is possibly her father dies in 2007. Should we be curious/suspicious about that? Just seems odd to me. I might just be over analyzing everything, though.

I'm pretty sure Casey has no idea who the father is. I'm equally sure the whole "he died in an accident" thing was a lie on Casey's part. Her uncle (Cindy Anthony's brother) has been quoted as saying he's pretty sure she got pregnant at a Christmas party. He said it was a big get together, lots of extended family and friends, and Casey got drunk and was flirting with a lot of different guys at the party. He thought she did it with one of those guys at the party. Apparently, the uncle got married the following summer and Casey's family attended the wedding. The uncle pulled Cindy aside and asked her how far along Casey was and Cindy denied Casey was pregnant; said she had just put on weight. The uncle said he told Cindy that if Casey wasn't pregnant, she was going to die of a tumor the size of a 6 months old fetus so they better get her to a doctor. Cindy got mad and stopped talking to him after that.

I read a lot of the writings Casey did in jail (letters to another inmate) and she held to the story that she didn't realize she was pregnant until late because she continued to bleed throughout the pregnancy. Again, no one can believe a word that comes out of her mouth, but there are women who bleed regularly through pregnancy and are so disconnected from their own body they deny the fetal movements and attribute them to digestive problems.

Stupid is as stupid does.

I must admit, I've barely kept up with this case except in the last few weeks so I'm behind the times. Does anyone who has kept up with it think that Casey's allegations that her father and brother molested her are true? Because something doesn't seem quite right there. That entire family is so screwed up, it's hard to know what the truth is. But they act like a family that has some pretty dark secrets and they're hiding something.

The only "skeletons" George Anthony seems to have "out there" are that he used to have quite a gambling problem, which caused the family financial problems and ultimately led to the family relocating to Florida from Ohio. George's father owned a car dealership (in the Tampa area, IIRC) and George came down to get involved, supposedly to eventually take over the business when the father retired. Instead, he and the dad got into a conflict and George supposedly threw his dad through a window at the dealership. End of job at dealership.

I also don't recall the circumstances under which he left the police force in Ohio, but it may have had something to do with his gambling.

George has a reputation for being a hothead and a narcissist. Does that make him a sexual abuser of his own child? No. Casey's penchant for lying certainly leads me to believe that she began having reason to lie at a young age. That could be from sexual abuse, but it's more likely the result of wanting to avoid her father's anger. When you have a parent that tends to explode, you learn as a child to find ways to not get exploded on, and lying to avoid trouble is the easiest way to do that.

I just wonder if it is possible for a WHOLE family to be in denial about everything all the time and is it possible they all live in a fantasy world where lies are common place in all situations.....that's some weird juju. And we will never know the whole truth about any of the entire saga....which begs the questions: why the hell do we even want to know? why in tarnation do we even care?

I do believe the news media may implode if they do not find out where she is.

I am not sure which is more sad: people who are obsessed with this case - or the media that feeds into this obsession.

Agree. I don't have much of an interest in the whole thing as it affects me in no way. Sure, it's tragic that someone killed the little girl. Why people totally unrelated to the whole thing got all worked up and showed up at the jail at midnight to hold signs and yell...I guess I don't get that.

When the verdict was announced a few days ago, several women outside and around my office were zooming around talking about it, like it was their own family involved.

And I'm not sure why people obssess over all the details of the family. Maybe to compare the Anthony family's dysfunction to their own? A confirmation that "my screwed up situation could be worse." Maybe we just all like the spectacle of it.

I think that Casey doesn't have a clue as to who was Caylee's father, as Savannah said. I wish her release from jail would be the end of her saga, but I think eventually the media will find out where she is, and we'll hear it 24/7 again on radio and/or TV whether we want to or not. We have been accused of sitting in front of our TVs and radio and listening to alll that "stuff". But when it's broadcast 24/7, what can we do? Just turn off our radios and TVs? Geeeeezzzzzz

I think most of us despise liars and we like to see situations wrapped up in a pretty box, topped off with a pretty bow, so we can go away with answers. Even if it doesn't affect us directly, we are curious and very voyeuristic by nature, so we want to know.

I was one of those who was seriously interested in this case, though I fell short of obsession IMO. I was done with all my interest when the not guilty came down from the jury. If I thought for one millisecond that we could ever know what really happened to the child or what the true family dynamics are, I might still be interested. My interest dies for cause not shown - we will never know and endless theories from the media or other armchair quarterbacks (myself included) are not definitive and prove nothing. "You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em.....

P.S. - Stay away from HLN....they will NOT let it go.

I'm far from being obsessed with this. I, like others, think the protestors are ridiculous. Some people took the trial so personal. Something in me just wonders if Casey does know the father, and I have to wonder if she assisted in the wreck. Just a thought that crossed my mind when I heard he was in a wreck.

Maybe George meant to make it look like a murder but it wind up looking like an accident.:conf2:

Thanks SD. I hate to think that ANYONE is capable of an act like that, even someone I don't know. I didn't know the stuff about the gambling, etc. That family is a train wreck and obviously have plenty of demons. I'd hate to think that incest was part of it as well.

Heh. What's funny about that statement is the fact that we will never know those answers because of who? The lawyers. Funny thing, the legal system.
