Schipperkes. We had two, brother and sister, but due to our growing family and military moves we had to give them up. We'll probably get them again if we own more dogs.

They're small, entirely black, with fox-like faces. Very energetic but loyal and fun-loving. Great guard dogs, too. If anyone comes around they will let you know. :)

Welcome to the forum!
thanks! It took me two hours to try to figure out how to post my pictures! I was ready to change "Happy" to "Totally Confused" but couldn't find that button!

Is there a reason we can't just attach a picture? I have a message somewhere that says I can't. Thanks!!!

You all look like a cook group!:)

I love my two border collies! One is black and white, the puppy is a blue merle. They are my (and Hedduk's) little girls!

we've got a shelter pup (going on one year with us now) that looks alot like your bottom pup. she has a wonderful merle coat. she seems to be either border or aussie mixed with some form of bird dog (maybe english setter or springer).

she is super sweet.

a year ago last week, i had to put down my 7 y.o border mix (mixed with chow) because of cancer.

both of these dogs were/are super loyal, very smart, athletic, and great with people (although the border chow mix was prone to licking a lot if he liked you, and he was everyone's best friend.)

I think the best way is to upload your pictures to photobucket or a similar website then use the "Insert Image" option when you're making your post or reply. As long as you're not posting copyrighted images, it should work out fine.

If your merle has a tail she is probably a border collie mix. We had a merle border collie which died last year at 9 1/2 from a heart attack. She was a rescue dog and the vet proclaimed her an aussie. Once the border collie breeders saw her, they said "no way". Apparently aussie owners are very strict about the tail docking and many aussies only have a stub of a tail to start with. If yours has a full feathered tail you probably can declare her at least half bordie! They are wonderful dogs. They are all the things you listed and more! I really just love my little girls!

Thanks! I ended up using Photobucket. It's just that I use it so seldom, I had forgotten my password, the site had changed, etc. Guess I'm just getting more dense with age!

English Bulldogs

I like bulldogs of all kinds, but English is my favorite.
My daughter has one and he is named after #97....Biscuit. Great dog and I never knew how loyal and such a people dog this breed really is. Of course you dont buy a bulldog for protection or security, they would watch someone break into your home and watch them carry off your stuff and just sleep through it.

:smile:Cute dogs and all, but I'm sorry to say my neighbors are turning me against dogs...and I love animals. I have one neighbor that has 4 outside large dogs (+ 2 small ones inside that they let out occasionally) but refuses to keep them fenced even though they have one, another neighbor has two dogs and also refuses to keep them fenced and never stays home to take of them. I can't step outside without them barking at me in my own yard, they tote everything off my porch including plants, and did I mention they bark incessantly, night and day.
I hate them all (almost).

Cats RULE, dogs drool.

She's not a dog, but still cute, no? ;)

Sorry for the thread hijack....

My favorite, although I've never owned one, is the German Shepherd. So intelligent, loyal, and fearless - what's not to love? I hope to have one someday, but only when I have the time to train him well. An untrained or poorly trained German Shepherd isn't worth having.

I grew up with three German Shepherds. Great dogs - highly protective and loyal. I was really young (first or second grade) when our house was broken into. We lived out in the country - no neighbors in sight. The three dogs attacked the intruder, and one of the dogs, my favorite, got shot in the process but kept up the attack. The dogs would have killed the guy if my parents had not been around to call off the dogs. Upon reflection they should have let the dogs finish the job.
