Another question, it's about 3/4 mile from the dome on Tchoupitoulas St.-will it be safe to walk to the game? This will be my first trip to NOLA.

I guess it would be okay if you're walking in a pack of people. If it's just a few of you, I'd ask if the hotel has a shuttle or get yourself a cab.
