Julio and Ingram and Dareus will most certainly go....not sure about Barron, but hightower i don't think he can considering he got the medical redshirt and is still considered a soph.....not sure he qualifies as eligible to leave? can someone clear this up for me?

Hightower is a great fit for one of the mose desired defensive positions in the NFL. There just aren't enough talented outside linebackers who can drop back in pass coverage, contain the run, and rush off the edge.

IMO, Coach Saban made a mistake when he tried to move him inside. But he has a significant body of work on the outside. I think that, if he is fully recovered from his knee injury, he will go on day 1 of the draft.

You have to be 3 years out of high school to qualify for the draft. A true soph can not leave but a redshirt soph can.

we never know what the players will do (Glen Coffee), but the coaching staff advises against leaving early if you arent going to be a 1st rounder.
Ingram, Jones and Dareus will grade out as first rounders, however one of them may stay. It is most possible for Julio to increase his draft stock and become the number 1 reciever, this year its between him and AJ Green.

Hightower will not be projected as a first rounder. There is very little value placed on ILB in the draft (the reason Ro was top 10 pick as opposed to a top 5) Linemen, QB's, passrushers, skill players, and DB's are much more valuable. In other words, except for kickers and punters ILB's are the least valuable position to draft, teams would much rather sign one in FA. Combine this with Hightower's less than stellar season, and a noticeable drop off in speed from his injury and Hightower probably needs at least on more year to climb back into the first round.

Barron could surprise us with a jump. Not a lot of picks, but no one throws at him, teams have decided to test the corners and Rob Lester, which have led to Lester leading the SEC in ints.

Interior linemen also do not go very early in the draft, and both Jones and Valachos can do a lot to improve their stock to climb a little or even a lot higher. I don't expect either to consider jumping early.

All this of course is IMHO.

McClain is a better LB than Hightower since the injury - and even McClain is apparently not producing at the level the Raiders were hoping for. This will probably trickle down to Hightower, who therefore may benefit from an extra year at college speeds to fully recover.

The other guys - anybody who is already a first round pick, or is peaking as a 2-3 round pick, will be encouraged to go, and they owe it to themselves to monetize a decade or more of hard labor. Never worry about "losing talent" - it is that capability our coaches have of maturing top talent for the NFL that keeps our pipeline full.

I'm thinking about applying myself. I run a 40-second 4-yard dash, have a vertical leap of 36 millimeters, and can underthrow receivers 30 yards away. The only downside is that at 43, I may only have a decade or so left.
I think the age thing will keep you from going in the 1st round. Probably a late 2nd round or early 3rd.

Hightower, Dareus, Barron, McElroy, and some others are playing better lately.

I wouldn't want to get caught making generalizations based on 1/2 a season for these guys.

I'm not one to care what happens to Auburn except one game a year and I still don't but I've got Alabama playing for the BCS Championship whether Auburn loses to anyone other than Alabama anyway.

The NFL draft is going to hurt again. :frown:

Ingram, Jones, and Marcel are gone and first rounders it looks like. Barron, maybe gone but probably not. Hightower has a long way to go at this point to get drafted. He has the potential, but hasn't regained his pre injury form.Watching the Tenn. replay a not to shifty Sims shook past Hightower in space a couple of times easily. That would not have happened before his injury. I don't think Vlahos will get drafted at all, but agree he is invaluable for us. Maze would probably get drafted, but being the go to guy next year could help him in the draft if he stayed. But I'm just speculating like the rest of you.

If there is a lockout we might actually feel it more in the next draft. Both Ingram and Richardson would be gone and our backups like Lacy wouldn't have very much experience. I can't even imagine how many other Juniors we might lose.

McClain is doing an amazing job at his position for a rookie. no offense to Hightower but they are not in the same zip code. i cant believe that ppl think Ingram will stay. these players like Hightower, Barron etc. I think workouts will determine what they do.

Julio, Ingram, and Dareus are gone. I think Barron, Hightower, and Vlachos will stay. I just don't think Hightower is quite ready for the NFL after missing a season and in my opinion he isn't have the season he was hyped up to have.

I'd count on losing Ingram, Jones, Dareus and Barron. The first 3 are projected 1st rounders and should go. Barron might go in the first, but his draft position is probably still unknown at this point, but it is my understanding that barring a catastrophe he is gone.

Hightower could go and might b/c he's already suffered a severe injury and doesn't want to hurt his stock any more, but I honestly think he needs at least one more year to regain his agility and most importantly his confidence in his lateral movement before making the jump.

I really doubt an interior OL would jump early (as a few posters already stated) b/c they just aren't drafted that high normally.
