Question: Who will the Tide lose early to the draft this year?

I think we lose Ingram, Julio, and Dareus. I think Hightower and Barron are longshots to leave early.
I would love to keep them all, but that's just not realistic and I understand that many of these young men and their families need the money, and the risk of injury is just to great to chance.

What do you think?

Assuming an NFL lockout isn't part of the discussion, I think we lose all five. I think they all have a good shot at going in the early draft rounds so they should go for it. Bird in hand etc.

+1....i think we'll be extremely fortunate to get just one of either Barron or Hightower back

I agree that the lock out is the biggest issue. If there is no lockout I think we could lose all 5, but I don't see Hightower as a long shot. I think losing last year to injury makes him much more likely to leave early. The beauty part of the Coach Saban era is no rebuild only reload.

I'm not sure Hightower is an early round pick right now. Believe he may be better off getting a little more time given that he missed much of last season. Of course, if I knew these things well, I'd be scouting for an NFL team instead of working for the **!

I expect Julio and Baron to go. I think with injuries and sub-par seasons (by their standards) will keep Hightower and Dareus around another year.

Call it a hunch, but Ingram strikes me as the type of person who will play all 4 years at Bama.

The ones that concern me are Vlachos, Maze and Hanks.

Vlachos is a vastly underrated player and one of our best linemen. He would be a great stabilizing presence as we break in a new QB next year.

Losing Hanks and Maze with Julio would be devastating. McCarron will need some proven play makers at receiver next year. I don' think they will leave early, but college football is full of stories where guys left a year early only to go undrafted and never be heard from again (i.e. Jevan Snead).

Julio, Ingram, Dareus, and Barron are all virtual locks to be drafted in the first three rounds so they're more than likely leaving.

I think NFL teams are still not sure about Hightower's role in an NFL defense; maybe he stays for another year to improve his stock? It'd probably be better for him anyway as it's typically not until the second year back from that type of injury that a player is able to play at full speed.

Ingram and Dareus returning for another year....what have you been drinking tonight?

There is zero chance that those two return (barring a lock-out).

Truthfully, the only defensive guy that looks ready for the NFL draft is Dareus. I don't think Barron is having a great season...he's having a good season...but Barron and Hightower have not met pre-season draft potential expectations.

These guys will certainly go, and will be first round picks....

Julio Jones
Dareus
Ingram
---------------

These guys will go, but they don't seem ready to be a top two rounds pick to me...

Barron
Hightower
Vlachos or B Jones

I agree, Hightower doesn't stand out this year. I'm sure there are at least 20 other players ranked higher at his position. Dareus gets a ton of double teams this year....Chapman ain't quite holding down the middle like the big guy did last year!!! This is making it less likely that Dareus will see single-team blocking only.

Almost certainly leaving: Dareus, Ingram, Julio

Barron hasn't looked like a first-rounder this year, and Hightower, to me, has looked FAR from a first-rounder. He's not fully healthy yet, I don't think, and might not ever get very close to where he was.

With that said, Barron (second round?) could probably go.

No one else should make the jump, but for some reason I could see Maze rolling the dice.

Not bashing here, but it seems to me Dareus has underwelmed in run support. I scratched my head last year wondering why on earth Dareus wasn't starting over Lorenzo or Deaderick, but I think that may have been why he only played on passing downs. Maybe it was the time he missed and I know his ankle has been hurt since the Arky game, but he was giving up his gap on running plays in Duke game (again maybe he was just rusty). Hopefully his game will round out down the stretch after the bye.

I'm going to miss Julio... Remember when someone tries tackling him, he like kicks the defender off him. And gives the defender a look, like, "you think your going to hit me like that? Who do you think you are? get on my level." it's going to be a long time before we see another Julio at WR again, easily my favorite player. Of all time. I only own one jersey. Number 8.
At the end of the year, he should have an appreciation thread. :/

I think he may have gotten injured in the Duke game. If thats the case then he really hasn't been healthy all year. I would like to see what he'd do at 100 percent. He certainly tries to do it on one leg now.

I'm thinking about applying myself. I run a 40-second 4-yard dash, have a vertical leap of 36 millimeters, and can underthrow receivers 30 yards away. The only downside is that at 43, I may only have a decade or so left.
