Eh, can't blame the kid a bit. If you're an Alabama native and you have the choice of playing football for either Auburn or Kentucky, well, that's a no-brainer, especially if you grew up an Auburn fan. Just be realistic about the situation.

This one probably does mean, however, that D.J. Howard will either go to Clemson or will not qualify academically. Big shock, right? I know we were all crying over here when Auburn stole him from us... or at least that's what they convinced themselves of.

Can`t blame him, but I still don`t have to like it. ;)

Ryan has the potential to be a very good FB player in the SEC, was fun watching him play in HS.

Ryan goes to school with my son, he was there when my boy signed his golf scholly with Wallace on Monday and was great with praise to him. They were the only 2 to get atheletic scholly's this year. Tim Simon went to Ole Miss last year from Cordova, he was injured the first game and I believe he is out for next year also. I wish Ryan all the luck where ever he plays, he is an awesome kid and a great athelete.

I thought there was a 28-player limit under the new SEC rules. Why does Auburn have 29 at present?
Because not all of them will actually sign LOI's . If they do , a couple of them will end up just being "for show" like Demerius Dareus in '08 or have a scholly on hold as was the case with Elliot McGaskin in '07 . Depending on how things shake out , the same is likely to probale for 1 or 2 members of the Alabama class .

I forgot to mention there have been some in the barn who feel another Cordova player by the name of Logan Kulick could receive a last minute LOI .

The barners are not gonna like having to finish up going to B recruits. If they finish up below Bama in the recruiting rankings they may have to put guards on all bridges in lee county.

That's not going to happen. Logan is going to Wallace State, he is not playing football.

100% agreement. My Mom is a graduate of Cordova High School, and my uncle, Jimmy Abel, is possibly the best player to ever play there.
I could post a long story about Jimmy's rivalry with Billy Richardson, who played at Walker County High at the same time, before signing with Bama.
But that's another story. Congrats to Ryan. He's a great player.

My uncle (Charles "Baby Doll" Kitchens) played at Cordova in the 50's....on the same team with P.W. Underwood....and he started on the varsity team when he was in the 7th grade. Hearing stories about him from folks that either saw or played with him tell me he was as good as, if not better that P.W. Messed his knee up playing ball in the service if I remember correctly.

Congrats again to Ryan, hope he does well at the college level.

My dad played on those teams back in the 50's. I've heard a many story of P.W. Underwood & "Baby Doll" Kitchens.

It`s good to see some of the kids from the area going to SEC schools. Looking forward to next year with two more possibly getting a look (Jake Howton & Maleki Harris).
