i'd have to say the 86 Sun Bowl.dont know why but that game forever sticks with me unlike any other. maybe because it was in my early years of being a die hard Bama fan. I was 11 at the time
I was at the game with the MDB. I recall Washington being fairly pitiful including their band. At some point during the game, the director of the Washington band sent a note around to Ms. Calhoun to tone it down so others could hear their band (our 100 or so players were drowning out their full band).

Technically not a bowl game, but I have fond memories of the 1986 Kickoff Classic: (1) my first college football game that I attended as a member of the MDB; (2) my first airplane flight; (3) my first time to visit New York City; (4) met my wife to be and learned that she has a mortal fear of birds; and (5) beat OSU, which was important since I had a high school buddy who was a big OSU fan.

'00 Orange Bowl against Michigan. It's actually kind of ironic, I'm also a die-hard Indianapolis Colts fan, so naturally I detest Tom Brady. The funny thing is that I've hated him much longer than most Colts fans because I still haven't forgiven him for this loss.

The first bowl I remember watching was the 1970 Astro-Bluebonnet bowl in Houston against Oklahoma. We missed a fieldgoal at the end and it ended in a 24-24 tie. How ironic LOL! Of course there is no more ties or we would be tied with LSU in the loss department. ;)
Mine also. I remember Johnny Musso throwing a TD pass to Scott Hunter in that game.

I had to go look at the list of all our bowls games to determine this. The first one I can remember without a doubt watching was when I was 10, the '68 Gator Bowl. We lost to Missouri 35-10. I feel sure I saw one before that, being from an Alabama family, but that is the first one I have memories of. Haven't missed one since, and even made it to several.

First Liberty Bowl, 1959, watched it on TV. We lost to Penn State 7-0 in the snow at Philadelphia, PA.
Mine was the same as you and GrayTide.

Sub QB Galen Hall's 18 yd pass to to All-American halfback (not called a tailback then) Roger Kochman on a fake field goal. Only 2nd pass for TD against Bama defense for that year.

79 Sugar Bowl. Was 16. My girlfriend's dad was a bus driver for Greyhound and he drove me down there on the bus. 18 hour trip there and back because of all the pee breaks. But we won which was a great feeling. My late grandmother got me the tickets which I had to pick up a the old Michael's steakhouse. And this trip to Nawlins will be my first one since that time. Woohoo.

That game was my 1st bowl game also. We played well in that game. Scott Hunters last game and the next year the wishbone and the beginning of a great decade of Alabama football.

My first bowl memory was my parents and their friends huddling around a black-and-white TV watching the January 1, 1965 Orange Bowl, immediately after the 1964 season. Namath was ruled short on a 4th down QB sneak, and as a 5-year-old in footie pajamas, I learned a lot of new words.

The first bowl for which I really remembered the game was the was the 1970 Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl where our kicker (whose name I remember, but choose not to reference here), missed a chip-shot FG late in the game -- maybe as time expired, but my 11-year-old memory is not that detailed. As I remember, he missed the whole end zone, not just the goal posts. We ended up tying 24-24 with Oklahoma, but that was the start of the most glorious period in Alabama football until now.

The first bowl I attended in person was also the coldest game I've ever attended: the 1997 Music City Bowl against Virginia Tech. Got our _&(#(%$ whipped, it was cold and wet and miserable and I had a Tennessee fan behind me who attended the game for the expressed purpose of trashing Alabama. An unforgettable experience in the worst sense of the phrase.

It was offset by being at the BCS game in Pasadena in early 2010. I can only hope to repeat the experience in about 23 days.

1953 Orange Bowl. Also the 1st football game I ever saw. Not many folks even had TVs at that time. Our neighbor bought his 1st TV just for that game and half the neighborhood was there. Bama routed them 61-6 and my most vivid memory was of a freshman QB with the greatest name ever, Bart Starr, who threw a TD pass. I've been a fan of his ever since too, both as a player and as a man.
Ditto, including watching at a neighbor's house. Had read and heard the entire month of December how the "Beast of the East" was going to destroy Bama. How sweet it was to destroy them!

You're hating on the wrong one. Brady was just doing what he was supposed to do. Dumbose was the idiot on the last TD. He had the ball on the 3 yard line with the best RB in America. Brady is going through his defense like a hot knife through butter, so even if he kicks the extra point the next time he gets the ball it is going to be at the 25 with Bama down 7. Fisher DeBerry would have won that game because I don't ever remember Air Force kicking an extra point in OT when he was the coach.

1985 Aloha Bowl and I was 8 years old. There was a little game about four weeks earlier that awakened me to the passion surrounding Alabama football.

The 1993 Sugar Bowl...

Although I was in attendance at the 1986 Sun Bowl and 1990 Sugar Bowl. I just don't recall any particular memories from either. I was three at the '86 Sun Bowl and eight at the '90 Sugar Bowl.

The first game I have memories of actually watching was the 1976 Liberty Bowl, I was nine at the time. I recall parts of the 1974 and 1975 sesons, but no memories of the bowl games themselves.

My memory of that game is Bill Curry nearly yanking the face mask off of Prince Wembley after he "celebrated" a 1st down -- when we were down by 2 scores!

The irony of that game is that it ended up being a lot closer than most people thought!
I was in the Superdome that night.....that was the only thing about that game that was fun to watch......I wanted to beat Miami SO BAD that night........:(

first bowl i ever ATTENDED, was the 04 Music City Bowl. We lost to Minnesota and I recall a gopher fan passing by saying how weak he thought SEC teams were and how the BIG 10 was soooo much better. Not long after I imagine that guy has had a ton of crow to eat for years since.

It was a nice bowl experience though, it was my second year in the MDB. The next year we went to the Cotton bowl, and got the win Again a great bowl experience. The next two years were Independence bowl bound, I had fun but shreveport is a hole.
