That's not an issue its not like he has his own office and secretary he's a student. So was he surfing the Tide fan forums on company time, or not?

I agree, but if TideFans takes a hit because of the mods having to be overzealous about photos being posted, I would say Alex's actions did negatively impact Brett's livelihood.I also agree that it's a horrible idea. That is not our place and this is not an offense so bad as to attempt to impact a man's livelihood. We're talking about posting copyrighted photos, not offering to be a secret witness.
If the money brought in from Tidefans is Brett's livelihood, then he's in trouble.I agree, but if TideFans takes a hit because of the mods having to be overzealous about photos being posted, I would say Alex's actions did negatively impact Brett's livelihood.
Got an idea for you. Don't call anyone a childish brat and I won't call you banned for life.If the money brought in from Tidefans is Brett's livelihood, then he's in trouble.Seriously, we'd better hope that it never becomes his livelihood, 'cause then we'd be shelling out a few bucks a year to be a member.
Oh, and I'm not Alex's best friend. I've never met him. I just know that what he did didn't deserve the treatment he got and that acting like bratty children is a horrible idea.
It doesn't make any sense, as it accomplishes nothing except making yourself look like a childish brat. "Whaaaa, I don't like what he did, I want to pitch a fit and get him fired even though he did what his boss told him to do."
Really? You really think that's a good idea?
I still don't understand why you're taking his side. When you're wrong, you're wrong. Be a bigger man and admit it. I've said it before and I'll say it again: There's usually a reason the majority is the majority. You are defending the the unrepentant, what do you expect? Why even stick your neck out for this guy? What are you gaining from it?If the money brought in from Tidefans is Brett's livelihood, then he's in trouble.Seriously, we'd better hope that it never becomes his livelihood, 'cause then we'd be shelling out a few bucks a year to be a member.

Deal.Got an idea for you. Don't call anyone a childish brat and I won't call you banned for life.![]()
There is a reason. The reason is that the majority doesn't like the outcome, and that has skewed the balance of thought. That and many posters appear to be making brash and immature statements while also appearing to be misunderstanding what the email actually means. That's why you have all of the "can I post any Bama pictures at all" posts. It's been blown waaaaay out of proportion. It's not really, as far as it affects the average poster, that big of a deal. I can't remember the last time I posted a pic from a U of A site. I'd bet most of the posters in this thread whining about the email can't either. You just have to find other web sites to garner pics from, or use your own or ones you get from other posters. There are plenty out there.I still don't understand why you're taking his side. Please keep it up just a little longer, if not for us do it for the dog.:BigA:Its probably about time to put this thread to sleep.
Gross exaggeration doesn't really help anything IMO, it just frustrates. The overarching problem--some people treat the internet as if everything on it is free for the taking. If it's on the net, it must be free, right? Music... pictures... video... books... Whatever. It's on the net. It's free. I can do whatever I want with it, right?
"I'm an internet user. And I have internet user rights, by God!"
I didn't say it was his only source of income. What I said was that if the website took a hit as far as viewership is concerned because of mods having to be overzealous about pictures--maybe even having to delete pictures that are not property of UA just to be safe--then Brett's livelihood would be impacted. The money to run the site has to come from somewhere. If the money brought in from Tidefans is Brett's livelihood, then he's in trouble.Seriously, we'd better hope that it never becomes his livelihood, 'cause then we'd be shelling out a few bucks a year to be a member.

When my teenaged daughter installed Limewire on one of our systems here, I banned her from using the net for a month. When her younger sister--also a teenager--did the same thing, I banned them both for two months.1. What is your solutions?
2. Have you ever infringed on someone's copyright? If so, you should chill on
the issue a little.
Aww.. don't let the secret outSince I spend hours a week removing Malware from computers with my job, I would strongly suggested as a public service announcement that if you must engage, make sure you are protected and use a program called "Ares" instead of Bearshare, Limewire and such for music files. The others are loaded with phony or virus laden files.
Ares is a good, open-source alternative to those p2p programs, but there is still a danger issue there. While Ares itself is not laden with viruses and/or spyware, many of the things you download with it will be. Plus, while Ares itself has no built in automatic traffic logging and reporting, your communications can still be tracked by various means, including your ISP, tying to your IP address. Even using torrents, which are safer than p2p from a tracking standpoint, your IP and download activity can be logged if you're using a public (or unsecured private) torrent tracker. All of the above, if you're downloading illegal music and/or movies, can get you sued.Aww.. don't let the secret out![]()
How would you know? Did you just read that somewhere, and if so, show me the link. In three years, no bad music file in Ares, how about you?Ares is a good, open-source alternative to those p2p programs, but there is still a danger issue there.
