My take on the Texas matchup after viewing their film~!~(SMACK WARNING!)

I'm not gonna argue over times. Were those electronically done b/c most 40 times are B.S.

Anyway he's fast. I won't argue that. One of the few Texas games I got to see he returned a kick for a TD something like 70 yds. He looked plenty fast on that play.....

But it's really unimportant. Javier Arenas doesn't run a sub 4.4, and he really doesn't look "fast" in the open field(maybe quick but not fast). Still, Arenas is one of the most prolific return men in the history of the NCAA.

That math doesn't work. You can't just divide his 100m time by whatever and extrapolate his 40 time. You have to take into account acceleration etc.

oh yeah and don't forget the english to metric conversion. 40 yds = 36.6 m

And yes there are 3-5 nfl prospect each year that run an electronically timed sub 4.4 40. 4 did it this year.

Makes me laugh when texas fans come on a BAMA site and get a dose of reality with stats and opinions and they get offended. If you cannot expect to get a little bit of ribbing and alot of truth why even come here?? It is not as if I went on your website whatever it is and started talking trash or tried to give my analysis.
It is very simple, stop watching your game with the burnt orange glasses on and try watching it as if you were coaching against them and pick out what you see might be some problems. Then watch your opponent and see what they have then compare them.
I have been blasted more than a few times on here but in reality I never said anything that was not true and most of what I said needed to be fixed has either been fixed or patched up. In the beggining we had issues of not covering the back out of the backfield and while we have gotten alot better there are times where we have lapse, see the SECCG with demps out in the flats Javy blew the coverage but demps dropped it. However, we covered the rest of the game really well since Coach Smart jumped on Javy (or it looked like he was telling him to get on him).
We have had some problems in KO coverage but CNS has made phone calls and personnel and scheme changes and it has worked well. I and some others also went through a time where we thought G Mac had some issues but he worked himself out of it and the last 3-4 games he has been progressing very nicely. In the end the SECCG seemed to be the perfect game in all phases of a game.
Will BAMA be able to duplicate this feat or will Texas find the riddle to CNS's complex defense (something no one has done in 13 games +) Only time will tell and you guys can take the underdog role and go back and cry about how BAMA fans think we are just going to wear you out but in reality the truth is this game will be a very tough one to win no matter who you root for.
For texas it comes down to giving McCoy time to find a hole in our defense and stopping our running game and passing game. Both of which are determined by in the trenches, the trouble is that is BAMA's strength.
For BAMA the key is not being predictable, run & pass at ANY given down and make you respect both, give G Mac some time and not turn the ball over. On defense BAMA must make life very short for McCoy speeding up his decision time by 1-2 seconds because of pressure and then contain him if the pocket folds.
How well each team does the above will determine the outcome of this game not the underdog or the david v.s. goliath role. What I think most texas fans don't realize is that we have played a much tougher schedule and coming from the SEC knocking off the defending NC's in such a impressive fashion, texas fans have to realize we might be a little cocky or confident. Had texas drummed nebraska's defense by 32-13 then it might be different but BAMA fans are not stupid we look at stats and teams. When we see your team struggle with good defenses we foam at the mouth because in case you have not heard we have a decent one residing in Tuscaloosa~!~

Who is this "TU" that you speak of? Tulsa University? Tulane University? Surely not Texas...there is no such thing as a Texas University just as there is no such thing as a Texas Aggie. The University of Texas does not do the Aggie thing so there could not be such a thing as a "Texas Aggie".

Of course, I guess that you wouldn't be bothered if I referred to the great institution that is the University of Alabama as AU. Would you?

My bad. It was a typo. Also, when I type UT together I think of a place that ranks just below the fungus that grows on manure after it has been sitting on the ground a while. I wouldn't want to lower the University of Texas with that comparison, but then again we Bama fans usually don't respond well to opponents that where Orange.

If this team plays its best game of the year Texas won't even score...unless they did it on defense. Please feel free to try winning that way.;)

very true but bama will need to lose alot more people than Sam Bradford in order for that to happen. I can't say one way or another that Bama is better simply because we play in the SEC and i can't say Texas will win simply because Colt is such a good QB. Everything that has happened up until this point doesn't matter to either team, Bama played a close game to Tennessee and Auburn, Texas to Oklahoma and Nebraska. To me those are as about as even as you can get in terms of where those teams were in their conferences. Bama played very good run D in a run heavy league, Texas played good pass D in a pass heavy leauge. for every positive and or negitive you can come up with there is an equal counter for the other team. I am just glad these 2 teams will face off, unlike most years the winner of this game will be the hands down best team in college football

Come on man seriously???????????? Guess I better go back and watch the game film on texas because I thought we just killed superman~!~
 
I have read analysis of Texas and BAMA from each fans base. Each has good points and counter points. It all boils down to who executes the best on the field. If one team doesn't show up, see last year's Sugar Bowl as an example, it could well be a blowout. I expect both to bring their A game and it to be a 3 to 7 point game. Stats and observations are all nice and good, but they do not always translate well in a big game.
