Actually, they're really lying to themselves because deep down they know it really sucks to be an allbarn tiger. You can just cut right through all the ridiculous BS they throw around. Things like "family" and that "Creed" thing they act so proud of.
If they're a "family", then they're a dysfunctional family because their "family" doesn't embrace Blacks unless they're gifted athletes. Or their Greeks don't throw parties in which the theme of the party is to parody the KKK lynching or abusing Blacks.
The "Creed" espouses "a spirit that is not afraid," yet they spent about a million bucks to duck out of a two game home and home against FSU in Wingnut's first year down there.
And what's so "great" about being such a decided underachiever when compared with your main rival in which you share the same state? Is it really "great" that it's been over half a century since you've won a NC, or that in your entire history, you've only won 3 major bowls, or that you named your stadium after a coach that only enjoyed one championship season in 25 years and never won a major bowl and worst of all, you've NEVER even taken the field and played for a National Championship, NEVER!!
Last, but not least, what's so great about having your greatest tradition being to mill around outside a drugstore and throw toilet paper up into a tree? And this is often done, not to celebrate something positive you've accomplished, but to celebrate when something negative happens to your in-state rival.
Sounds to me like it's really no big deal to be an allbarn tiger.
