If he's going to visit Auburn might as well stop by T-town for a visit.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Let me just say what others are thinking.....how in the world is AU doing this? To go from where they were at the end of the 2008 season to two years later having a NC and two top 5 recruiting classes? At Auburn? Come on. Either something funny is seriously going on or they have the best collection of college football recruiters in the history of college football.
I contend that the best thing that ever happened to that school was Nick Saban going to Alabama. Someone or some people over there (I'll let you decide who) decided that they weren't going to sit back and watch Bama do what it was starting to do in 2008. They got the coach in that they knew they could control. They are working their magic behind the scenes. Whatever it takes to keep up with us. WHATEVER IT TAKES

THIS is the TRUTH! The boogs cannot keep up with The University of Alabama
and CNS.

You cannot tell anyone with half a brain that a high school such as allbarn-aubrrens that is nowhere on the radar for a high profile player just comes in at the last minute for 1 and a half month before signing day and then miraculously steals a player away from a elite program like Bama and the best coach/recruiter in the nation while he has been close to the UA program and coaches for 2 years straight now. Not to mention he said just last signing day how fast he wished he could get to Bama but couldnt due to being a high school junior. This smells with the territory.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

But at the end of all of it, CK does not need to base the decision on someone else wanting him to go to a certain school.

Unless his parents don't want to miss his brothers games. I think the parents should try to convince him they want to watch them both play.

The father knows more about where his 17 year-old son should be than the son does. That is why 17 year-olds cannot make contracts. He dosen't have the maturity or knowledge of his father. The father should have the final say.

Yes. Let the kid decide as long as it doesn't create a hardship on the family.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Cyrus, bro, seriously why not Bama? Do you really want your parents to root for rival schools and have to pick which game to go to on Saturdays? Or would you rather be on the same team as your brother and your whole family rooting for the same team and become the greatest combo on our OL and win championships? roll tide

I agree that is the reason they reacted like they did. Its not really the parents "call" but more like "what do you expect us to do when both of you play" that would be worse on them than the school he picked. During basketball season I've had to miss one nephews game for the other and I dont like the choice when I make it because the other will be hurt. Same deal here IMHO. I know I felt that way when I played. I wanted both there to watch me and hardly ever got both.

We both had the same thought at the same time it seems :-)

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

What is in Abarn that would cause him to change his mind? Was it Ms. Nunn and the love she showed him? Did he fall for another foxy cow from the Plains? Do they offer a Degree program that he prefers instead of one at Alabama? What was it? Did something happen on the trip with his parents not making the trip to see the Barn?

How is this different from the Region case knowing that Region lives in Alabama?

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Two thoughts.........

One, Saban looked stunned when being interviewed by ESPNU right after the Cyrus decision. I'm glad the female reporter had class and didn't ask him about it.

Two, Saban probably should have played Arie in some of the games we had wrapped up last year.......Cyus wants three years and out to the NFL, he now sees how it works at Bama (under Saban, which is before Andre Smith was a Freshman) that there is too much competition and the SEC is too talented to throw a true freshman in the line of fire ( in a Crimson jersey, anway).

That's what happened.

Good sign that the LOI isn't faxed yet........means we could have another Calloway on our hands here.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

If it's true that the year after a National Champoinship is usually a great recruiting year for the Champion, then holy geez, what kind of recruiting year will Auburn have next year?

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

If you want the truth I really do think Saban has stopped recruiting Cyrus. I know this sounds crazy but I think after that stunt he pulled Saban might have moved on.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Even so....he has to be sold on T-Town and Bama and the "Process" and Coach Saban etc. or he's not going to play to his ability because he won't be HAPPY.

You can't do a great job if you don't like where you're working.

I agree that it hurts to lose a prospect like him because he's a future first rounder.

But he has a right to make himself happy.

All that being said....I still think, ultimately, we may get him.

But I just hope he's 100% Bama. Otherwise, he'll perform to about 50% of his capability. Not being argumentative here at all. I just like kids who are totally Crimson and White.

sip

Sip, I totally agree, but as with any player that comes to BAMA, he better give 100% or he will be riding the pine, and if that doesn't get his motor started, he will be shown the door, like everyone has said, these scholarships are 1 year renewable contracts, and that is probably why, if a kid does not perform up to his ability, there is always someone there ready to step in and take your place.

Hopefully, he and his family can have a brain cleansing after being in the cess pool they call Auburn, maybe, someone will talk sense into him, I want Cyrus and his brother Arie to be on the National Championship team together next year and make Mom and Dad proud.

Come on Cyrus, don't believe all the lies they are telling you son, your brother will tell you how great it is, not how easy it will be. If you want something, you have to work and earn it.

ROLL TIDE,
Bama Greg

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

After stepping away for awhile and digesting this , a couple of things stand out. One is, you really have to wonder what went on during the unsupervised barn visit last weekend. Not implying anything, just that without his parents Auburn could focus more on fun and and a little on business, which to an impressionable 17 yo could go a long way. Whereas , the Visit to T-town was more business and some pleasure to comfort parents and foster a professional environment. so the visits were not even. I do not know anything about Mr Kouandjio , he appears dapper and engaging, but would love to know his honest opinion of Trooper (I'm 40 but act 17) Taylor.
It is still really hard to imagine picking the barn after only being added a few weeks ago and for what appeared to be effect . A lot of head scratching these days concerning Auburn and recruiting.

The only truth we have is...we don't know what the truth is! We just have to wait it out.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

i think you are totally right. I've said that we want players that want us. he saw something @ burn that he liked, so be it..he's not bad, good or anything else it's his call and he made it. please just let it go.
