Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Idk but lets pray its a good one because really my gut is saying the Barn.Whats up with this coach he seems to be trying to make a decision for him.
It will depend on whether he is listening to his head (the barn & mcgregor & BS) or his heart (family & CNS & facts)

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

There is more to it than a football camp. I am not necessarily saying he is on the take, but some of the things on the website are odd--as in why does HE need the website and the blog and NOT the school? A lot of self promotion. I am not the only person with these thoughts, though. There is another thread about this in the football section.

ETA: RTR91 added a great point. See his post.
He works at a private school and so why wouldn't he point to his record of getting kids into colleges? Remember, his player committed on national TV to AUBURN, not us. If the roles were reversed and he was making sure our interests were being represented, I hardly think we'd be questioning his ethics.

The amount of negative attention this has caused Bama is not worth the hassle IMO. A lot of talk radio personalities (including our beloved FBAUM) are ripping Bama over this thing. Let the kid play where he wants. Either way, you are going to have to end up blocking SEC defensive ends. Not a fun or easy proposition no matter who you play for, it just looks like the guys who are on campus at Bama or are soon to be have their mind in the right place.
I know what you mean but forget what other people think i had to sit in work all day listen to Barn fans say if Cyrus signed with Barn then Saban would take Aries scholarship away and alot of other BS. Im sick of all this really he needs to make up his mind. Didnt we have someone close to him post in Tidefans a couple of times if so now would be a good time for that person to come and post some and tell us whats going on.

I haven't seen this. And besides, what did we do?
Several on air personalities (some around the state in Huntsville) and some national (Fbaum) are claiming that CNS has threatened to pull Arie's scholarship if Cyrus doesn't sign with us. Very ridiculous, but it is being stated.

He has posted since yesterday a couple of times.

No point for Cyrus to make a quick decision now. He needs to take his time and make sure he is making the decision that is right for him and that HE wants. We as fans can wait on this. We arent the ones with having to deal with the pressure of where we will spend the next 3-4 years of our life going to school and playing a sport.

Re: Cyrus, St Nick Fairly, Coach McGregor, and Brian Overstreet

I'm not necessarily saying it's not true, but it sounds like something I would read on an Auburn board.

Is this a recent report? That rumor floated around this morning, but then the articles later in the day don't mention any announcement. At one point it was stated he'd call the coaches. That's it.

What has that person said?
Dont remember exactly what was said and dont want to misquote so hopefully someone will correct me if im wrong.

Something along the lines of the whole family was going to sit and discuss the decision and what is best for Cyrus. Someone asked what the family thought about the recruiting process and how they handled it.

Said they talked to the coaches and other recruiters. Also did a lot of research on their own about each school that was in consideration and the coaches at said schools.

If I was Coach Saban, I would make a mental note of these journalistic midgets as well as the stations they work for.

I heard FBaum saying he wouldnt put it past "The great Nick Saban" in sarcastic mockery tone to give strong hints that if Cyrus embarrasses him again, Arie will remain forever buried in the depth chart.

I nearly drove off the road!

Pretty soon, we might see Saban express some displeasure in the way many journalists approach their jobs.

Agents, HS prospect, coaches, A road I would rather not go down. Not burying my head in the sand, but I don't agree with bringing this up now. If a prospect has any relationship with an agent, that would be reason to back off. I really don't like what is being implied, especially without a link or story.

Can't wait until A-Day
