Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Hope Cyrus comes to Bama because like I said before, it would be cool to have Brothers playing OL for Bama the next 3-4 years. Plus, I like Cyrus character on & off the field. We'll see what happens?

It does seem strange for a program who preaches Family so much sure doesn't want to include a recruits Family throughout his recruitment. This should send a huge warning flag up for anyone when someone doesn't want a mature/experienced set of minds involved with things. Auburn seems to be the Car Salesperson who gets a deceptive smile when they see a young kid walking onto the car lot without a Parents in sight. A Salesman knows a Parent isn't going to be had just because a car has a killer stereo & cool rims.

Recruiting sure is getting outta of hand these days....................:frown:

Poll Question:

If Cyrus called you right now and said you can decide this very instant that "I will either sign my LOI for UNM and send it in within 60 seconds, otherwise we hang up and you wait like everybody else until tomorrow with the possibility I may sign with auburn".......whattaya choose?

I'd say, "Your 18, if you go to Auburn, Courtney Upshaw says 'hi'."

Re: Cyrus, St Nick Fairly, Coach McGregor, and Brian Overstreet

Nothing would surprise me anymore with how many Adults are trying to cash in on these recruits these days. This includes the Media, NCAA, TV stations, Handlers, Agents, Boasters, Fans, some Coaches, and even some recruits own Parents too.

The Cyrus Family are a Class act, and they seem to have a great Family. I really hope no one is doing anything wrongful behind their backs.

Edit: This thread should get wacked if ya ask me......

Who knows, but his little website deal says he's been coaching for 28 years. Maybe he's done this in the past, but doesn't realize that with the internet etc now, there are no more secrets in the world. With high profile players like Cyrus, everybody's watching. Krymsonman

SIAP, but it's come out on another site that Coach McGregor has been involved in a venture similar to Walt Williams' Pinnacle Sports. IOW, promoting and directing HS athletes to certain schools. The word is that the website has been taken down and links are disappearing. Explains a lot...

That certainly explains it. If someone mirrored that site, we can then see if the coach is trying to gain something for himself by selling these kids to certain programs. This can get very deep...

Hmmm... that would explain a whole lot. What is it about the name "McGregor" and shady dealings? Weird. I hope parents sort it out with this young man. I feel for him, and just want him to do what's best for his future. Auburn is in the middle of controversies all over the place the last couple of years. They are a train wreck just waiting to happen and college football and the SEC will be better off when they finally do hit that wall.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

As other have said, it just seems strange to me the CK's family sends him to school today and his coach arranges a conference call to Auburn!!! If I were Mr. K, I'd keep Cyrus away from the coach. I don't see why the coach is even involved at this point. Why would he need to be calling Cyrus??? It just seems that he's got more than just Cyrus' best interest in mind here...maybe he's got his own "interest" in mind.

I'll never understand while you people willingly subject yourself to Finebaum...
He's good for a laugh on occasion, but the prevailing idiocy on there from 90% of the regulars make me want to jam something in my ears to stop the pain.

I have this gut feeling that the Barn has blown it for both Alabama schools. We will see.

It certainly seems that CK's coach is pushing him to Auburn. jmofwiw I read someone who said CK's coach was quoted as telling Cyrus that the decision is his alone, not his coaches or his parents. If that is true then that is a very strange thing for a HS coach to tell a kid. I realize it is his decision to make but every teenager should listen to their parents and consider their feelings and the feelings or their brother in my opinion.

Here is an article about CK. The part about New Mexico getting back into the picture is reportedly wrong. The latest from CK's coach is that is down to either AU or Bama.

Recruiting Insider - Cyrus Kouandjio: Waiting to sign, still considering Auburn, Alabama and New Mexico
On Thursday afternoon, DeMatha All-Met offensive lineman Cyrus Kouandjio met with his coach, Bill McGregor, to chat about what had been weighing heavily on him over the past 24 hours.

On Wednesday, Kouandjio said on ESPNU that he would attend Auburn to play football. But even as he made that announcement, Kouandjio said he felt nervous and unsure about his decision, calling it "buyer's remorse."

Widely considered one of the nation's top prospects, Kouandjio said he won't sign his national letter of intent for the time being for that reason.

"I just want to wait a little while because if something comes up or something comes down, you never know," he said, standing in the main entrance of the Hyattsville school.
