Based just on School A vs. School B, Winston probably should go to FSU because he can do something at FSU that he cannot do at BAMA. He can play professional baseball AND play college football. The SEC does not allow this. Just like Russell Wilson did at NC State ($250,000 signing bonus). Basically he would have the choice to take a huge bonus to go baseball only ($2 million-$6 million bonus.......SEE ZACK LEE LSU last year---$5.25 million), play college football and baseball and get $0, ORRRRRRR, he can take less money ($500,000-$3,000,000) and sign with with a MLB team and play from early May to late June. This way the MLB team would HAVE HIM and he would still have his dream of playing college football. Then he could let it play out and see how it goes. If he struggles for a couple of years in football and he does better in baseball, he may have some provisions in his MLB contract where he would get another bonus ($1 million) to give up college football altogether. If he is projected to be a high 1st round pick in football and he is hitting .230 in the minors, he might give up baseball for the big money of football (Jake Locker). He can't play this hand at BAMA. It's either all or nothing. I don't understand why more people haven't been talking about this big advantage that FSU has over BAMA regarding this option. The SEC should change this rule to make us more comptetive with other conferences. While we would all LOVE TO SEE Winston in a football uniform and baseball uniform, FSU is probably his best option. Remember, decisions are not made until early June (MLB DRAFT), and more importantly mid August (last day for MLB team to sign the player...or lose him). So just because he practices for a week in August, IT AIN'T OVER (see Zack Lee last year). My guess is FSU, while my heart hopes for BAMA. And I am a big Bama Baseball guy.
