LOL. This decision will be epic for this board. If conventional wisdom and MOST insiders and recruiting gurus are correct and Jameis does commit to FSU today, alabamafb will become a villain of astronomical proportions on this board. If he commits to Bama, alabamafb will achieve an Oracle and Legend status. Regardless what happens this is gonna be interesting.
ive been holding back my opinions on him for just this reason lol.

What if JW committs to Indiana just to screw with Gunner............Ok so that won't happent, but the FSU rivals site says he is choosing between UA, FSU, and LSU. If he chooses LSwho then everyone looks like fools right???

I don't know whether to believe this guy or not. If he is an FSU fan that just played the fans or someone who is close to the situation but in the past a day or two before an announcement happens word tends to leak out and that is usually where the kid goes. I refuse to cmgratulate FSU for landing an instate player because it ...... me off a d I hope it ...... this coaching staff off that they are getting taken to the woodshed so far. I would set the o/u at 6 being the number of posters that get banned after the cussing that alabamafb gets if he is a troll. So regardless of what alabamafb predicts, knows or trolls I hold out some optimism that Winston commits
to Alabama today.
The poster in question could be Jameis Winston's cousin who reportedly said publically that Winston was going to pick Bama on JOX Radio. He could also be a prankster, hoaxer, recruiting visionary, comedic recruiting board writer, kid with too much time on his hands, etc. We don't know because he has not said specifically where or from whom he got his info from. If he would have simply stated his opinions no one would be questioning him. It is just the repeated and antagonizing way that he is facetiously posting that irks some and make him a super poster to others. lol

I'll buy it.

I think alabamafb is as credible or more credible than those who says he's going to FSU. Winston has visited Alabama (and Auburn, I think) more than FSU and did go there since making his decision. If he has the baseball talent he can get to the pros through any program and, let's fact it, no one watches college baseball. It's not like he won't face real competition at Alabama. What I don't know is whether Saban told him it would be difficult to play 2 sports at Alabama or that the Alabama quarterback would be expected to focus exclusively on football. If so, obviously that changes things but, if not, Alabama make a lot of sense to me here.

Also, it's a long time until the MLB draft. He could shoot up the draft board or fall down. Even if he's considered a first round talent at the time of the draft I think he's unlikely to actually get picked in the first round due to his high expected bonus (which will be high for two reason - b/c of his excellent leverage and b/c teams can spread out bonuses for multi-sport athletes over multiple year). If he's considered an elite first round talent in the spring (possible, but by no means certain) I think he'll either go at the end of the round to some team that doesn't mind paying a lot (like the Red Sox), or in the supplemental or 2nd round.

Never has one person come into this forum and had such a polarizing effect on it's members. He will be a legend, one way or the other for sure. Let's hope it's the good kind of legend.

Most people here are very good about taking rumors with a grain of salt but alabamafb isn't portraying this a rumor but as a FACT. We all hope Winston commits to Bama, regardless if he ever plays a down of football, but to have some one speak with so matter of a fact against most of the information available to most people, draws a lot of emotion and skepticism.

He may end up there in the end but right now he is projected 3rd round. A lot of it has to do with a 6.9 60-yard time he recently ran. So he is projected as a RF instead of a CF. Now of course he has plenty of time to improve his already impressive stock and he is capable of improving this time, he has done better on other occasions, but that's where it stands right now.
RF is doable. Just been hearing comparisons to Desmond Jennings and the scout that has been saying that works for the Rays. :)

guys, I'm epic. and forget FSU fan.. I could be a Barner fan and you know how that tree situation went down.. left a bad taste in everyones mouth!
Just my opinion here but I'm tired of seeing your so called inside information. Regardless of JW's decision you've single handedly compromised the integrity and class I've grown acustom to seeing on Tide Fans boards. I come here because the Mods tend to do a great job of filtering dribble like this into the recycle bin hence the information is worth the time expended. And albeit, your intentions may be good, but your delivery needs work IMO. I'm not trying to start a fight or get called out by the Mods, but in the words of one of the greatest minds of our time, Master Yoda, "the derp is strong with this one". With all that being said if JW does pick Bama, I will appoligize for any skepticism on my part, but I will still stand behind my recommendation of learning a little tact.

which team will be there reporting live for his commitment, Bama or FSU? or both? that's usually the first sign on where he's going. I'm just curious b/cI'm not aware of either team that will be there.

Here is the very latest info on Winston's announcement.

Hueytown's Jameis Winston to announce college choice - al.com
Jameis Winston said his father and his girlfriend know, along with a couple of Hueytown High teammates and a former teammate.

Other than that, it's a secret where the highly touted senior quarterback wants to play college football.

His mother, Loretta, doesn't know for sure, but thinks she does. His beloved grandmother, Myrtle Winston, can say the same thing, but they aren't asking a kid rated among the nation's top quarterbacks where he's going to play every day.

Winston will let everyone in on his college choice during an expected 2:30 p.m. ESPNU broadcast today from a Birmingham television station.

He's supposed to be at a TV station in Birmingham. I'm assuming it'll be ABC 3340 since he'll announce on ESPN.

Based just on School A vs. School B, Winston probably should go to FSU because he can do something at FSU that he cannot do at BAMA. He can play professional baseball AND play college football. The SEC does not allow this. Just like Russell Wilson did at NC State ($250,000 signing bonus). Basically he would have the choice to take a huge bonus to go baseball only ($2 million-$6 million bonus.......SEE ZACK LEE LSU last year---$5.25 million), play college football and baseball and get $0, ORRRRRRR, he can take less money ($500,000-$3,000,000) and sign with with a MLB team and play from early May to late June. This way the MLB team would HAVE HIM and he would still have his dream of playing college football. Then he could let it play out and see how it goes. If he struggles for a couple of years in football and he does better in baseball, he may have some provisions in his MLB contract where he would get another bonus ($1 million) to give up college football altogether. If he is projected to be a high 1st round pick in football and he is hitting .230 in the minors, he might give up baseball for the big money of football (Jake Locker). He can't play this hand at BAMA. It's either all or nothing. I don't understand why more people haven't been talking about this big advantage that FSU has over BAMA regarding this option. The SEC should change this rule to make us more comptetive with other conferences. While we would all LOVE TO SEE Winston in a football uniform and baseball uniform, FSU is probably his best option. Remember, decisions are not made until early June (MLB DRAFT), and more importantly mid August (last day for MLB team to sign the player...or lose him). So just because he practices for a week in August, IT AIN'T OVER (see Zack Lee last year). My guess is FSU, while my heart hopes for BAMA. And I am a big Bama Baseball guy.

Ok I might be new here but good grief after reading like pages 10-15 I was left scratching my head and thinking did I just waste 10-15 minutes of my life :)

I think I might just wait for one of the Big Boys/Girls on here to post something reliable.

Your assumption is correct. I find it odd also that all the recruiting gurus are predicting FSU but alabamafb is still sticking to his guns. I have found his posts to be arrogant, insulting and over the top at times, however, he did predict Kiel's decision. So I will give him the benefit of the doubt unless at 3:30 Winston announces for FSU. If this happens he will be irrelevant. If Winston picks Bama, I will see him in a different light.

On a side note, what's the deal with the Yoda quotes?

Luganbill (sp?) was on JOX this morning and he said the announcement was taped yesterday and they danced around the analysis not to reveal the destination.
