According to the LSU board, they don't see it as plausible because apparently Kragthorpe's offense is complicated and Mett just hasn't had enough time to learn it yet...most think Lee will have to be the guy this year, with Mett being the future at qb.

Only it probably won't be Kragthorpe's offense that they're running.

Not neccessarily, but I think Mettenberger will be better. I'd rather have a combo of Lee/Mettenberger than just Jefferson.

LSU fans were chomping at the bit for Miles to bench Jefferson last year, and somehow over the summer, he's become their de facto superstar.

Either way, LSU's success this year is dependent on their defense. If any LSU fans were expecting Jefferson to be the one to lead them to a BCS/SEC title, they need their heads examined.

The fanbase seems to be pretty much in accord that Mett is just not ready, and I understand that. He only had to beat out Jordan and Lee and was apparently not able to advance beyond 3rd string. That speaks very loudly. You can spin it as long as you want, but nobody's really buying that LSU just improved. Their fanbase certainly doesn't believe that...

All the more reason to walk away and not draw attention to yourself.

Especially if you are a team leader and you are in a parking lot with teammates at 1:30 a.m. (after curfew) at a bar called Shady's. Not to mention the fight reportedly started because somebody honked a horn at the LSU players to move so they could drive away. From what I have read this incident was not a case of simply defending one's self, it was allegedely a felony assault. Not good, not good at all. What a sad situation for all these young men involved, especially the injured.

LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson and linebacker Josh Johns have just turned themselves in and were being booked at East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on felony charges of second degree battery Friday morning for their role in a bar fight last week, Baton Rouge Police said.

If convicted, second degree battery has maximum penalties of up to five years in prison with hard labor and a $2,000 fine, according to Louisiana law.

Both players were indefinitely suspended by LSU coach Les Miles shortly after 11 a.m. Friday.

Probably correct...its my understanding (again according to LSU boards) that Kragthorpe had worked extensively with JJ to help him improve and learn the offense over the off-season...so now all that is out the window...

We just need to stay away from any recruits with the initials JJ. Janzen Jackson bolted from us on signing day, Jordan Jefferson and Josh Johns have been arrested. I need to look at the roster again to predict the next occurence.

Florida had Janoris Jenkins. Where does this end?

Yea, you just reminded me that we released OT Jarvis Jones in 2008 and he transfered and started for Oklahoma! Dang!!!!!

Baton Rouge - LSU football players Jordan Jefferson and Josh Johns have turned themselves in to Baton Rouge police after being charged with felony second-degree battery Friday.

Police issued arrest warrants for the two for their roles in a bar fight Aug. 19 at Shady's bar. BRPD contacted LSU Coach Les Miles and the players' attorney, Nathan Fisher, to request the players turn themselves in, which they did at 10:15 a.m. at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Attorney Shannon Fay transported the players to the prison and bail was set at $5,000 each. Both players bonded out at about 11:40 a.m.

Shortly after surrendering to police, both players were suspended indefinitely by Miles. Jefferson is the team's starting quarterback. Johns is a reserve linebacker.

back to the subject- im not sure who is worse to deal within a bar- a bunch of privileged and spoiled drunken athletes or a bunch of obnoxious horny military guys. this is one of those situations where i think it is best for them to beat some sense into each other.
