"On hearing of the allegations in 2005, the University [Syracuse] immediately launched its own comprehensive investigation through its legal counsel. That nearly four-month long investigation included a number of interviews with people the complainant said would support his claims. All of those identified by the complainant denied any knowledge of wrongful conduct by the associate coach [Bernie Fine]. The associate coach also vehemently denied the allegations."

Well, the good thing is, according to Charmin, that y'all should be afforded special protections based on said minority status. So, at least you've got that going for yourselves. Which is nice.

It's now being disclosed Paterno has lung cancer. I wonder if this would've been publicly announced this soon if not for the scandal. I wish no ill health to anyone but the timing is rather curious...

I said when they fired him, he would be dead within a year...and I only said that because he's been doing this for so long and suddenly, he's reduced to sitting at home.

I'm just glad this isn't all I'm hearing about when I turn on sports radio. The coverage for a while there was unrelenting.

Over the years he has been quoted as saying that one reason he kept coaching was because of how quickly Coach Bryant died after his own retirement.
