Re: 2013 CB Artie Burns Roll with the Tide

Regarding the track deal, I figure he mainly just wants to stay closer to home. I'd imagine he'll end up at either FSU or Miami. Louisville is only in it because of Strong's ties to the state of Florida.
He probably wanted to run track at Bama but assume he was told he would have to concentrate on football only. I agree about Strong being the only reason he is considering Louisville.

This is serious stuff. That only leaves us about 24 cornerbacks!!! My God Saban is losing control of the program!!!

Bring back Mike Price!!! :)

If I'm not mistaken the 12th rated corner in the nation would be the lowest rated corner back we've signed since Saban became coach.

I think we'll survive. I have no problem losing a player who de-commits.... "Nah nah nah"

It also easier to get in school at Louisville as well. Kid from B'ham went that route a few years ago.

Peanut Whitehead was the guy. Turned out to have a serious injury that caused him to quit football after a year or two at Louisville.

Is it? I know that was the case several years ago and back then you had an influx of kids going to the Big East for that reason -- Whitehead, Noel Devine et. al -- but I don't have the slightest clue about how they conduct themselves today. As much turnover and attrition as that conference has had in recent years, anything is possible I suppose.

In any event, I wouldn't think academics would be a driving factor here. If he didn't have a reasonable chance of qualifying we would have never taken a verbal commitment from him in the first place. I imagine any academic deficiencies he may have could be reconciled in the near sixteen months he has until he reports to a campus.

I believe that they accept partial qualifiers.

I believe the kid has been under tremendous pressure to go elsewhere. It must be so hard for a 17 yo to have to deal with all this garbage and take care of school, etc. May be my view from my crimson colored specs, but he may just have decommitted publicly but is committed privately to CNS

Would love if that's the case but I seriously doubt it.

That makes at least two of us. This, it would seem, only add to the pressure with more schools seeking his services!

Re: *** 2013 CB Artie Burns Commits to Bama ***

This guy can go where he wants to BUT as far as loser jimbo fisher and his bs recruiting tactics goes us Bama nation are about sick of his pouting, lies and garbage hes spewing towards Tuscaloosa.

I must say this: the criminole state penitenitary is a world class joke andthey and their bottom of the barrel jimmy bow fishtank coaching staff that nobody else wants needs to keep their pathetic mouths shut.
This aint the 1980s and their time is done, especially what little chance they had back like 30 years ago without Bobby Bowden they are a hasbeen and if they think they have what it takes to play big boy football then they should put their money where their
mouth is and schedule a home and home with Bama instead of a neutral site game in Jacksonville,Fla.
They dont want that though with their tiny crackerbox stadium and 20,000 Bama rvs olling in and taking over. UA will play them anyplace anytime any day of the year but it WONT be a snff in the direction of the bcs in the future because they simply arent good enough and in our league. They keep poking the bear and they will get the beatdown of a lifetime jamies winston along with the rest of the clowns. If it werent for Coach Saban no one would even know who fisher is.
LOL...you sound like you're mad. Do you have any proof??

Re: *** 2013 CB Artie Burns Commits to Bama ***

I really could care less where he goes. He had a spot and if the staff is still holding one for him so be it. I wish him best at wherever he ends up.

In regards to Fisher or FSU, I could care even less what they do. They have no real impact on UA, especially on the field. Until they can prove themselves in the ACC I do not even consider what they put on the field top tier football. Sorry for our resident Nole fan but I would not be very happy with the product they get. But I am sure I will hear some rebuttal about how they are young, the classes will now start paying off dividends, or give Jimbo time. But until it happens I will not believe it. From what I saw this past fall they are far from it.

In regards to recruiting I could care less who they recruit. I only saw 2 players they got from AL I would take on UA last year. Casher not sure why our staff did not push harder, maybe they did, and Winston if it was not for baseball FSU would have never landed him. Do not tell that to FSU fans because they think different. I would rather FSU get them than AU so it was a win in my book. I have seen nothing other than specualtion regarding their recruiting tactics but until that staff proves it and can coach on the field, they can recruit whoever they want because it really does not matter.
