Question: Which Juniors will leave early for the NFL? Just Henry and A'Shawn So Far

Re: Which Juniors will leave early for the NFL?

I wouldn`t blame him if he left, and I think he probably will, but can everyone imagine if Allen stayed to anchor the D line? With Reuben patrolling behind him? Wow.

So glad to hear that Eddie Jackson is coming back. The best thing to happen to him ..was to move to safety. He will be lights out next season.

Re: Which Juniors will leave early for the NFL?

Am I the only one who thinks Henry's draft grade will be low? Not a knock, nor a hope that he comes back, but I think he will have his height and slow starts held against him.

I agree, Henry lacks lateral movement and needs space to get up to speed. I don't think he will go as high as we would like, maybe even low 2nd early 3rd round. He'll still go because as a RB he won't have as long of a career as other positions.

Re: Which Juniors will leave early for the NFL?

I suppose, about the only question marks at this point are Rueben Foster and O.J. Howard. Anybody in the "know" have any clue which way these two fellas are leaning?

For different reasons, they both need to come back. Not sure what they'll do, though.

Foster needs to polish up his ability to lead and ability to recognize, adjust, and communicate on the field. But he has at least one child to support.

Howard needs to prove he can consistently win fights for the ball, and execute the blocking parts of the TE position. But he's coming off a monster game, and I'm sure has dollar signs dancing in his head.

They'd both be better off staying. Whether either or both will is an entirely different question.

Re: Which Juniors will leave early for the NFL?

I can't imagine someone projected to go in the first round coming back. I'd love to have Allen back, but that's a head-scratcher if it's even being considered...

Re: Which Juniors will leave early for the NFL?

It's a pipe dream to think Allen would come back as a projected late first rounder. I can't see that happening. Getting Rueben and O.J. to join Jackson and Williams in returning would be big IMO.

It also goes to show the devaluation of the running back in the NFL. Not so many years back a running back like Henry would have been a sure fire lock to go in the first 10 picks. Derrick could fall to mid to late second round. And it is not due to Henry's performance as it is to how running backs are used now and evolution of the passing game.

I think He promised his mom He would get his degree.... But honestly, Allen needs to go. Finish up degrees in off season.

OJ howard, Honestly, he needs to go too. We havent been taking advantage of him the last few yeras... and his performance in playoff has been huge. I don't think it can get any higher next year... maybe few more spots, but that's it.

Re: Which Juniors will leave early for the NFL?

I never know about the individual personal circumstances of any player. Their family might be living in a car for all I know. Or their grades may be such that they are not academically welcome back. All other things being equal, Foster should return, sort of the Reggie Ragland track. OJ should probably declare. His measureables are great. He's off the highlight game of his career and likely to look really good at the combine. Plus, there are not a lot of tight ends in the draft this year. I would expect him to be drafted relatively high and to make a team.

Re: Which Juniors will leave early for the NFL?

Williams and Jackson returning is absolutely huge for our defence..

In the 2nd half of the season I don't think there was a better disruptor/pass rusher than Tim Williams in College Football. He was huge for us and he will be even better next season.

Eddie Jackson will be the experienced guy we need in the secondary with the immense young talent we have. I seem him as a captain of the secondary almost.

Great news all round..

Re: Which Juniors will leave early for the NFL?

In my mind, if a junior doesn't grade first round but has first round potential, he's not smart to come back. OJ Howard is one if those, I'm betting' the grades second or third round. Going now after showing what he's capable of doing to help the offense is likely a $10M mistake...

Re: Which Juniors will leave early for the NFL?

Plus OJH would probably blow scouts away at the Combine. Someone would take him 1st round.

Re: Which Juniors will leave early for the NFL?

I'm not sure why everyone is saying that O.J. Howard should go because he JUST had the best game of his career. You know, these scouts watch ALL the tape on these players. Yah, O.J> had a great game when he needed to. His measurables ARE incredible, but that doesn't mean the scouts will like when they go back and look at every single stitch of tape on him. Stay a year and finish the development that started to show itself in this most recent game and go in the 1st round next year for sure.

Same goes for Reuben Foster. Personal life aside, he's a guy who would flourish next year and make sure the center of that defense stays nasty as well as working on his consistency and ability to manage a big time defense from the field.
