Absolutely! I`m on board and 100% supportive of CNS and CSS. He won`t have to learn systems and knows Coach Saban`s program. The personal life stuff is on him. All CNS can do is give these men the opportunity to take advantage of a chance in life. The rest is up to them.I don't think it's safe to make that assumption yet. There was a lot out there in the way of trustworthy info that wasn't rumors. That said, whatever happened, Saban decided to accept it and move forward with Sark, which was the plan in bringing him over here. No one has ever doubted his technical expertise. I was surprised, but, if Saban is backing him, then I'm backing him...
I think this proves he has been straight because Coach wouldn't have hired him if he wasn't. I definitely dig the upgrade, better believe he will pound it more than Kiffin!I can't believe Les Miles hasn't found a job yet, not even at a smaller school. Maybe he will soon. I am glad to have Sark as our OC but hope he can stay clean with his drinking habit. He will be so busy with football he won't have much time... I imagine Saban will have someone checking up on him daily anyway. Wasn't part of the issue at USC with his habit was he was going through a divorce? I hope he gets things worked out and does well for Bama! RTR!
If only Stallings had turned the offense over to Homer Smith, he would have probably had another natty!Try Neanderthals in helmets...![]()
His first two years at UW he had QB Jake Locker and his 3rd/4th year he had RB Bishop Sankey. I think he will do a little more running as you said but I think that is based on the RB/OL we will have and he will make our O philosophy based on what is best suited for the team.I read somewhere that Sark's philosophy is similar to CLK except it's a little heavier on the running game! If that's true, I certainly like it and I'm just going to say "In Coach Saban I Trust".
I think he has a pretty good track record. Obviously, it can go the other way in a hurry but I'm OK with it.I hope Coach Saban knows what he's doing...
I have always admired Coach Stallings and he did a fabulous job, but he once said, "Sometimes it's better to punt than to score a touchdown"..I've never been able to figure that one out lol. :rolleye2:Liberalism wins again!
But seriously, I think once you get the label Stallings and Miles got as "stubborn and unadaptable to the times" it is very hard to get an opportunity of the stature they feel is appropriate to their past successes. Schools who are firing a guy are probably wanting something fresh, something modern...could you have said that about Stallings in the late 90s/early 00s or Miles today? I don't think so.
I just thought if Les Miles was willing to hire a more modern offensive coordinator that a smaller school might give him a chance, but I guess not. Maybe he will be a sports analyst or an assistant.Don't know why you can't believe it. It's the same reason Stallings couldn't...
Without question at all. Homer was the definition of offensive genius. Brilliant, brilliant coach. Coach Stallings wouldn't take the cuffs off and I, like you, truly believe that it cost us the national title in 1994. Still hurts that a one point loss to Florida in the SEC Championship Game did us in when we had the offensive potential to run them out of the Georgia Dome.If only Stallings had turned the offense over to Homer Smith, he would have probably had another natty!
And a hell of a QB coach. He did wonders with Gary Hollingsworth and David Smith. He even made Jay Barker look like an All American during his second stint as OC. Without Homer Smith, Bill Curry would have probably had close to a losing record and no where close to that SEC Championship in 1989.Without question at all. I think his speech patterns are too disturbed. OTOH, Corso has made it a long way...I just thought if Les Miles was willing to hire a more modern offensive coordinator that a smaller school might give him a chance, but I guess not. Maybe he will be a sports analyst or an assistant.
