I was looking at old articles about what kinda offense to expect us to run with Sark as our OC & I must admit I'm excited about what I've read..This article was written just as Sark was taking over after Coach Kiffin at USC

To be honest, Sark needs purpose so this will be good for him but I hope he doesn't make Saban or this university regret it.

Saban doesn't seem like the type to hire as important of a position as OC just to retain a recruit.
I agree with that 100%, BUT,when you have one guaranteed full scholarship quarterback going into next fall, it's almost a necessity to do what it takes to make sure you have another one coming in, and to get him in early and secured.
I'm kind of excited about Tua because he's really good for our offense, as a backup, plus, we've never had a QB from Hawaii! We're becoming a global team :)
(Sark also helps us with Najee Harris)

Congrats to Coach Sark being named the new OC. Coach Saban had a plan from the time he hired Sark earlier this year. Looks like Bama will just keep rollin' from here on out as long as Coach Saban is in charge.

We will get a continuation of what we're doing from what I saw of USC under Sark. Pro-style with spread option concepts mixed into offense. He's been doing working under Kiffin for the past season, he'll already have some of the wrinkles Kiffin has added in on top of that in mind.

That "continuation" is why I'm glad this happened. Still, the fact that he seems to place more emphasis on running the ball thrills me to death.

Trusting Saban 100% and very excited about Sarkisian as OC!

Saban would never hire any coach just to get/keep a recruit. Never. Bama doesn't have to stoop to that! Sarkisian is in the position because he is the best candidate. I can wait to see what he will do with the Bama offense.

Well, Sark flew out to Hawaii earlier this week to close the deal with Tua. Draw from that what you will... :D
He would have been named OC for awhile then. No other way for him on the road recruiting like that.

One thing we need to know is that just because Sark likes to run the ball little more than Kiffin does, doesnt mean that'll happen once he takes over the offense. We might see something new or him doing same thing as Kiffin did... You'll be shocked though.

Re: Replacement Offensive Coordinator

Reminds me, my first job in college was basically babysitting and signing out TCF class video equipment in the basement of Reese-Phifer. Quickly, they reassigned me to a more appropriate job for my abilities as an IT technician for the college of communications. I probably signed out the wrong cameras to the wrong student one too many times! Anyway, I'd often have to ferry a laptop down there to the WVUA metrologist for his public speaking events (I think he works for WBRC now?). Weird building. Almost every staircase has a different amount of "access" to the building...got lost a few times.
All of the older buildings on campus are like that for whatever reason. I got off the elevator on the wrong floor in Gorgas one time and found myself in some secret office space. No stairs that led back to the normal part of the library that I could find at all.

Re: Replacement Offensive Coordinator

What was the mishap in Atlanta? I can probably guess, but I'd like to have it confirmed.
I doubt it will be discussed here, but it was likely what you expected. That said, despite confirmation from several folks who were there, I'm going to trust CNS - he's not steered us wrong yet.

Roll Tide, Sark!

Can it be discussed here? Inquiring minds.
