From what I have seen and read, LSU is all in on this game. All the support staff, all the analysts, everyone has done nothing but analyze Alabama. They are not doing future opponent scouting or planning or anything. They are all in. I will bet the farm they lose another game this year because this one game is temporarily exhausting all resources. It will be catch up to them somewhere.

Also, they are spending a small fortune on billboards and plane banners! An LSU buddy of mine told me yesterday that Bama and the SEC are being exposed by LSU and the national media has picked it up now, all thanks to the billboards. I’ll be honest, I’m laid up right now, and watch sports shows all day and haven’t even heard a mention other than Finebaum. It’s becoming comical! It’s actually sad to see a school and fan base so obsessed!

Ben explains why it's important for Tua to learn to check down because LSU often lose the RBs often.

This is what I have been saying for a week now.
As in most SEC games this will probably come down to the Run-Game, 3rd downs may be at a premium in this one!
Third and long might be a killer in this game, will need to keep the majority of those to 3rd and 4 or less!

My theory within the passing game, no matter how un-sound it may seem to anyone is, go with the screens and check-downs, until you get to like - 2nd & 2 - or even - 3rd and 1 - then try for Smith or Jeudy on a double move go or post!

I think with the LS?'s athletic DB's you're gonna have to get them to take the bait on a slant/curl/Tight End Drag then torch with the go/post...
Tua's feints & ability to look off the safety's could be what might make the difference!

See y'all there, we're going with a friend who's daughter is a senior at the Capstone, BUT he's an LS? grad, although his wife is an Bama grad!

That plan's been tried this season but not by a team with the talent of LSU's. In their case, they may have more reason, simply because their DBs are so admittedly gifted...
One big thing, they do have to respect Bama's speed, which limits how much run support they can give...

With LS? being their normal aggressive selves, I would think RB Screens would be more effective against LS? than what everyone seems to want to run those WR Screens, which very rarely work to any great degree...

Of course come the 2nd half they're gonna have to sort of I-Spy on White...

This isn't explicitly coming from the LSU Athletics Department but I imagine these ads in Birmingham are getting paid for by the same kind of folks who pay a lot of money to the AD and ultimately calls the shots on the big picture as much as the AD himself (no different at any other big program). I think the conference bias/Alabama collusion stuff from the LSU fans is an attempt to gaslight the SEC office into nudging the officiating in a way favorable to LSU. Everyone knows LSU is gonna have to be aggressive on our WRs, would love to have officiating being a bit sheepish about flagging them too much for holding or pass interference. That's just one example, but you get the idea. Considering how spineless Sankey has been in his short tenure, I wouldn't bet against it working to some degree.

LSU got some very favorable pass interference calls that went their way late in the Auburn game. Such hypocrites.

Saw a fun stat online this am. LSU is like 6th in SEC on pass defense. This bodes well for our pass attack.

LSU needs us to turn the ball over but I doubt we throw any picks. I do hope our carriers aren’t careless with the ball because I think LSU will try to strip it away a lot.

Here's something that caught me off guard last night when I was reading the transcripts from O's interview:

He said that the LSU analysts have a breakdown of every Alabama games from last year and this year and that Aranda appointed each analyst a different Alabama area to study.

I thought that was interesting thing to say....because I'm sure he didn't realize that this year we have different OC, DC, Special team coach, RB coach, ILB coach, QB coach, DB coach, DL coach, WR coach and different QB starting this year. I also don't think we really have run many plays on offense. I think we've went basic for the most of the season, with exception of Jalen in the game with Tua package. I would not be shocked If Bama spent the bye week doing self-assessment to see if there are any tendencies on that they created since the first game and develop a plan around that.

It was real interesting he brought that up and I'm sure Saban knows that now.

Agreed. I'm sure Alabama analysts have been going through LSU film like crazy as well. Saban isn't going to come out and say it though. I do agree there are probably parts of our playbook that haven't been shown yet and that has to be frightening to opposing coaches and fans.

I imagine we will see Jalen do some of the things we saw him do against Mizzou if he's healthy. There are a lot of plays that can be run off that pass play he completed. A lot.

That's why I hope Jalen's ankle is almost or at 100 percent.

I read that Coach O said he and LSU staff started prepping for Bama over the summer some. I am sure Saban did also for LSU. It would be interesting to read the scouting report Saban has on them this year and what Coach O has on Bama. Coach O said in one interview that he was embarrassed reading the scouting report last year after the game. Apparently one of the Bama staff members, who is a friend of his, gave it to him after the game.

Here are a couple of interesting posts from SECRant:

Another intriguing stat: LSU has only played two teams ranked top 70 in total offense and two teams ranked top 60 in passing offense this season.

Miami- 84th total, 93rd passing

Auburn- 83rd total, 87th passing

Louisiana Tech- 81st total, 49th passing

Ole Miss- 5th total, 4th passing (Numbers are greatly inflated by the yards they put up against non Power 5 teams this season)

Florida- 78th total, 98th passing

Georgia- 29th total, 65th passing

Mississippi State- 71st, 107th in passing
and:

And, inversely, their offense. LSU ranks 99th nationally in YPP. They will be the 2nd worst offense Alabama has played all year. Alabama ranks 19th in YPP defense (LSU ranks 24th).

#1 Alabama Offense vs #24 LSU Defense

#99 LSU Offense vs #19 Alabama Defense

Yes, I agree with Andy. YPP is an important stat. Glad you brought it up.

and:
In view of these numbers, why has all the focus been on "Alabama's played no good defenses." Why is it not "LSU's played no good offenses?" Their DBs have looked really good against mediocre, at best, WRs, by and large...
