Here we go. He'll be a position coach filling the spot we had open because Charles Kelly left
The 90s called (by saying, “hey Siri”)…They better put Uber on speed dial.
That was my thinking. Maybe it just didn’t translate or maybe other “issues” hindered his growth and development.Wasn't that how Golding's defenses played at UTSA?
I think he will be either ILB or OLB coach. Here we go. He'll be a position coach filling the spot we had open because Charles Kelly left
That would be a fun time in the old Mal Moore Athletic Facility with Mullen and Todd Grantham walking the same halls. Especially considering Mullen canned Grantham at Florida just a few weeks before Florida canned him.I continue to say "NO" to Mullen but much of that is based on his failures as a HC. I know he was a good OC at UF under Meyer, but beyond that and Tebow's jump pass I really don't remember that much about his offensive characteristics. Seems to be a good QB coach (although I think Dak Prescott is one of the most overhyped QBs in the NFL). So what's the draw with DM?
Yea that's what it sounds like. I just meant we had an open position coach spot because we lost Kelly. I'm sure that won't be the only move and it's not a one for one hire in terms of which position he'll coachI think he will be either ILB or OLB coach.
He's a really interesting hire. Really young guy, his defensed improved at Southern Miss. Here we go. He'll be a position coach filling the spot we had open because Charles Kelly left
I confess, I did it!!!!Wikipedia can be amended by anyone. At one point, the Auburn entry in Wikipedia said, "Auburn students eat their own poop." (Turns out that "amendment" was made from a public computer in the library at the University of Alabama.)
You read it wrong. there was no need to go there. as a fan, I am entitled to my opinion to how he should go about it....
If Pruitt is DC (big if) he coached ILB last time he was in that role for Saban. Here's something nobody is talking about:
David Ballou -- $525,000 to $550,000 through Feb. 28, 2023
Robert Gillespie -- $535,000 through Feb. 28, 2023<-- Likely get extension and will stay.
Pete Golding -- $1.5 million to $1.7 million through Feb. 29, 2024 <- Gone
Bill O'Brien -- $1.1 million through Feb. 28, 2023<- Will be gone
Sal Sunseri -- $695,000 to Feb. 28, 2023 (up from $675,000)<- will be extended and moved back on the field
Holmon Wiggins -- $575,000 through Feb. 28, 2023 (up from $475,000) <-- Texas wants him
Charles Kelly -- $825,000 through Feb. 28, 2023 <- Took a job with Colorado
So, Changes Saban will make on Staff are usually the one whose contract expires next month. I'm not sure if Ballou will stay with Bama or not. I think he will. I've seen some mentions of that S &C program will see some changes there as well.
So This is positions that is likely to be filled in coming weeks:
FYI, I don't' think Hutzler will be back. Lot of chatters that Sal Sunseri is moving back to the field. He has experience coaching DL/LB/ST and DC as well. So Saban has lot of flexibility with Sal. I think he ends up coaching either OLB/ILB. Now, Austin Armstrong was hired by Bama, and he has lot of ILB experience, but Saban could have him coaching different positions. either way, There is likely a shuffling amont the coaches on offense. I don't think Pruitt will be on the field coach, but he'll be one of the assistant coaches in the off the field role...
if it's Leonhard- He'll coach Safeties
Schumann- Little flexibility. Can coach LB or safeties.
Pruitt- Safeties.
AHC of offense <- Likely Robert Gillespie or Sal Sunseri
WR-
ST
OLB
ILB- Austin Armstrong
DL??? Roach is 50/50... I don't think he leaves.
DC-
also, I don't think Austin isn't locked to coach
This .... without it none of the revamp mattersSo, Changes Saban will make on Staff are usually the one whose contract expires next month. I'm not sure if Ballou will stay with Bama or not. I think he will. I've seen some mentions of that S &C program will see some changes there as well.
To be fair, the 52 to utk would have been 49 if we had made that last first down...I get complimentary football, but come on - the offense didn't give up 52 to UTK. The offense didn't allow LSU to own the 4th quarter.
I do understand complimentary football, but if you can actually watch the performance of the defense for the last few years and think it's not the problem, I guess we shouldn't even discuss it further. You may as well telling me the sky is red - my eyes tell me otherwise.
Again, I agree that the offense left the D on an island multiple times in games - it's not ALL Gol*ings fault - but the numbers are pretty obvious when you look at what Gol*ing has "achieved" vs his predecessors. So is the game play.
Some interesting names on that list. From the Tuscaloosa News. Some names I haven't heard before.

Last 3 or so I'd never heard of/thought about. From the Tuscaloosa News. Some names I haven't heard before.

Yeah. I would be happy to have neighbors come in a lateral move but it would and no sense to bring him to a higher tier program AND promote him.Last 3 or so I'd never heard of/thought about.
Wes Neighbors, while I like the thought, would be a longshot.
AA, the newly hired coach has more credentials than WN.
