Fair question: Did we recruit Kayden Proctor on potential rather than talent? Every starting defensive end /LB blows right by the dude like he’s a statue. He is sooooooo slow.
That’s why you don’t see any guys like that on Pro OL. The DEs are way to fast and explosive and where do a lot of them come from? SEC

Actually, it always has been. We don't try to moderate negativity here, never have and will not ever. Apparently many still don't understand why/how we moderate it in the game threads. It's because it's a GAME THREAD, not a personal gripe thread. Here, people are free to vent, as always...
I agree. Was sort of kidding. But jeez we did win. In a large part because of JM. Let’s beat the Vols and go from there. I have cigars on standby.

After sitting on it for a while, whipping out a few tunes on the guitar and watching some other games, I'm thinking this. We had a tough game last week and played very well. Today we had a good first half, but came out in the second half like a bunch of lost puppies. Perhaps we just thought we had this one already in the bag and Arky would just roll over for us. (Obviously they didn't). We sucked it up just enough to not lose the game. Hopefully we learned something from this.
I respect Pitman as a coach. Maybe they just beat us with halftime adjustments.

Based on CNS track record I fully expect Milroe to be the starting QB next year and Sayin and the others battling to be QB2. I expect at least 2 QB’s off this years team to transfer out.
Precisely on point here. And he is basically saying to the others to hit the portal. The best player should be starting and it is obvious Milroe is not going to cut it. Simpson could be getting some valuable development play. Now we will be stuck in the same boat next year. Just don’t get it.

Been watching Arky and Bama all season. Both teams showed their personalities today. IOW....I think Bama played as usual. And so did Arky. This OL thing is apparently not fixable. It is a win, but I don't expect 4 qtrs of awesome. Is what it is. We can win every game on the schedule, and it might not feel like it. Kinda weird..but this team is different. Still....I was glad to win.

I don't know how a guy as athletic as Milroe is can be a statue in the pocket. He has no pocket awareness at all. The O line isn't great this year, but Milroe is not helping either. Watching Daniels and Caleb Williams tonight, as bad as he played, it's frustrating because they move around so well and I know Milroe is capable of doing that. He really isn't a scrambling threat because he stands so flat-footed as the play is developing. I noticed this watching the practice videos during fall camp, but even during the games he does it.

Roll Tide! 6-1 and 2 home games coming up! It will be good to get Moore back in the line-up on Defense.
I hear ya, but I'd bet any UGA fan would be telling you they're very disappointed in their margin of victory over Vandy today. If Georgia is vulnerable then so is everyone.

I'm not willing to say we can't win the rest of them and prove all the doubters wrong.

Heck our 92 championship title team struggled mightily versus La Tech and Southern Miss and then blew the doors off Miami so.... Anything's still possible.
Yep. Also, reminds me of 2008. We beat Georgia on the road in the infamous Blackout. Then come back to Tuscaloosa and play Kentucky. We put 14 points on the board in the 1st quarter, then went on to win 17-14. I remember being real disappointed that we didn't blow that team away. Kentucky went on to be 7-6 that year.

Those days in college football are over. You cant beat good teams consistently scoring just 17 points

Yes, but we are having to coach during the season on things that should have been mastered during fall camp. We cant coach on more advanced things because we are still having to coach on the basics during game week.
So the takeaway is the OC's dividing his time and on the job learning between 'Bama and Gordo Pop Warner?

Burton's antics have gotten out of control and I don't understand why it's still happening right in front of Saban and he's not doing anything about it. I get that he's mellowed to an extent, but come on. He should have yanked him to the bench by now. Is CNS really ok with that kind of thing?
Maybe Burton's NIL deal is with Ye?

Alabama has had many TF at LT who played very well. Even as true freshman, some were great. Proctor is not. Not as a pass protector or as a road grader. He is the worst LT in the SEC - maybe in P5. I have no idea why he is on the field at all, much less starting.

Saban says that RBs can't play until they get the pass protection down, so Haynes sits, meanwhile Proctor plays in the most critical pass protection position on the field?

I really think this team shut it down thinking Arky couldn't score enough on the D to make it competitive. But we've seen this for years, and it's not just Bama - when you have momentum and you're the better team but you shut it down with a seemingly insurmountable lead, it's nearly impossible to regain that fire later.

Kudos to Arky for staying in the fight for 60 minutes, but had Bama remained focused this one would have been ugly. Thankfully, the immaturity of not playing the full 60 didn't bite Bama in the butt. This time.

Playoffs?!? Playoffs!?!? You’re talkin’ about PLAYOFFS?!?!? (nod to Jim Mora)

Seriously, we’ll need some significant improvement to sniff the playoff, let alone win a game in the playoff.
The good news is that I don’t see any team that really scares me. Michigan has played no one of note. They take care of business, but no one has punched back yet.

tOSU is a similar work in progress to us.

I don’t trust any PAC team to make it through unscathed and …

There’s FSU which may be the best, but most of that is because they seem older than some NFL teams

I say let’s tinker-toy our way through Atlanta and see what happens.

Michigan reminds me of Bama early in Saban's tenure at Bama - not super-flashy but just crushing teams like they're supposed to. Despite their scheduling I'd have UM #1 in my own poll.
