I think the problem also is that the Oklahoma game was a prime time game and everyone saw it. It was a completely horrible look. Then the very next week we saw Alabama struggling to put distance against a bad Auburn team and a mediocre LSU team totally pants Oklahoma.
I think we need to stop acting like SOS is going to save us every time. I mean heck… two of our national championships we got in over teams with clear advantages over us in SOS (2011 and 2017)
This isn't just Alabama though, this is about the SEC in general and to a lesser extent the Big 10 (they lack parity this year but that won't always be the case).
The truth of the matter is that Alabama, South Carolina
and Ole Miss belong in the top 12. The only reason they're not is because the system is literally dumb. It's not capable of parsing the data to understand why that's the case so they just look at wins and losses, but who you win against and who you lose to matter.
The SEC is so good it makes a lot of their teams look bad.
