Meh, had the chance to win their way in a laid a colossal egg.

So now let's hope the staff decides to start building for 2025 and we see some fresh faces in the bowl game.
I agree with this, I have said it repeatedly, if they wanted in, don’t get blown out by OU with everything on the line.
That said, as a protest the SEC should schedule like the B1G or Texas plus add easy OOC games.

It was never intended to put the 12 best, it was designed to get more teams involved and so they can expand the playoffs for the big boys and placate the little guys to avoid lawsuits or government intrusion
All in all, while majorly disappointed, I am looking forward to watching these playoffs. Should be entertaining football (though much lower level than years past).

I’ll cut us some slack for Tenn because if Milroe could throw the football remotely near the WRs then we might could win that one but he didn’t so we were almost helpless.

But Vandy and OU we were straight out coached out prepared and did not come close to matching the opponents effort.

Milroe was bad in those games too but so was everyone else.

We should have been 10-2 at worst though.
Vandy loss was mostly on the defense. Only completely awful defensive game we played all year.

The Tennessee and Oklahoma losses were almost 100% on Milroe. Defensively we played well enough to win both if we just get halfway decent QB play. He gave both of those games away and tried to do the same against AU but they were too inept to take advantage.

Milroe has probably taken his last snap in crimson, thank God.

It was designed to try and get more post-season interest and eyeballs on the product ESPN has on screen. It’s all about $$$$$$$$ not actually producing a real champion.

Whatever game we will play in, I'll be watching! RTR!

I'm disappointed that SOS and Resume doesn't really matter. The SEC should go to a 4 Division format and that way you can play your divisional teams, add a couple of Rivals and then play a weak OC schedule.
That was a point Nick made about SMU. They went undefeated in the ACC, but did not have to play any of the top teams in the ACC. They finally played one last night, and lost. Maybe next year, the SEC will give us a Texas type SEC schedule.

I think the problem also is that the Oklahoma game was a prime time game and everyone saw it. It was a completely horrible look. Then the very next week we saw Alabama struggling to put distance against a bad Auburn team and a mediocre LSU team totally pants Oklahoma.

I think we need to stop acting like SOS is going to save us every time. I mean heck… two of our national championships we got in over teams with clear advantages over us in SOS (2011 and 2017)
This isn't just Alabama though, this is about the SEC in general and to a lesser extent the Big 10 (they lack parity this year but that won't always be the case).

The truth of the matter is that Alabama, South Carolina and Ole Miss belong in the top 12. The only reason they're not is because the system is literally dumb. It's not capable of parsing the data to understand why that's the case so they just look at wins and losses, but who you win against and who you lose to matter.

The SEC is so good it makes a lot of their teams look bad.

We’ve had committees look bad before. And that got us here. We just need to realize whatever we had is gone. And this new whatever it is is junk.
Yes, but one thing that stood out to me the most was that Brett Murphy leaked that Alabama was out 45 minutes before the show started and it was shared by someone close to commitee. Another point in case as well: Committee wasn't exactly honest with us last week on how they would evalaute the teams. So I don't mind us not being in playoff, but leaving SMU in with no ranked wins and weak schedule... and then to hear Manuel explaining why they chose SMU over Alabama. It didn't make sense. So, I hope teams such as Clemson, SMU, Arizona lose big in the big way in first round to prove point.

sad thing is smu will beat State Penn because of the James Franklin factor and then they get boise state and they will win that one too. and then the idiots at espn can say "see we told you so." Nevermind that when they play a real team. they lise by 50. Just ignore all that

Just lose the ridiculous automatic bids and problem is mostly solved.

I'm hopeful but doubtful. No NFL team will take him after this year. I can only hope he hits the TP and we just start anew at the position. At that point, I trust that DeBurr will find his QB for his system.
This is getting ridiculous. I don't understand why Fans come up with stupid takes like this and even through Milroe is top 5 Qbs for NFL Draft. He will be drafted. Whether he plays for Alabama in the bowl or not, We still support the team as a whole. Let's stop blaming a single player.. This is getting old.
