As suspected, Mbakwe has entered the portal.
I believe I heard he is good friends with the wr from Mississippi State, being reported he was offered seven figures to transfer and he also wanted guaranteed starting position, wants to play both ways, I've about had enough of these entitled players demanding playing time

As a fan, it's very disturbing losing these guys. You enjoy watching them get recruited, and follow their career and wish them the best for Alabama. But that's all changing. Now we have to replace them with better players or at least the same. So I guess let's go after the best of the best at other schools. Apparently you can tamper now. No rules, so let's ROLL

Do we really expect this to ever happen?

Let's be honest: for the "casuals" (as the kids call them these days) who work their butts off all week and plop down on the sofa on Saturday to watch their favorite college team, NIL shenanigans and transfer portal chaos don't matter. Like most of you, I am fortunate in that I have the time, energy, and willingness to devote to reading up on this stuff, and while I (again, like most of you) am sick and tired of how the sport has seemingly become defined by these elements, most fans don't know and don't care. They just want to watch the Tide roll on the tube, occasionally make it to a game (likely against an G5/FCS opponent due to affordability), sport their selected merch, and crow to friends after big wins.

At the end of the day, casual fans still make up the vast majority of fanbases, and the true power players behind the collectives that fuel this wild-west, NFL-lite, mercenary system will keep doing it because that's where they seem to derive their value and enjoyment in our lovely free enterprise system.
I hate that you’re not wrong…

Do rules against tampering exist anymore?
Funny huh? The Boise State coach stated his staff “knew for certain” they had at least 13 players off his team being recruited before hitting the portal. Basically “if you hit the portal and come here, we can get you X amount”.

You can have all the rules and restrictions you want. Use third parties and intermediaries which give you plausible deniability and combine it with a feckless organization like the NCAA, these coaches are all in.

Regarding Henderson, he never truly found his position at the college level. He was a highly rated in state RB but never moved up the depth chart due to a loaded backfield. He finally got the chance to shine as a WR and he made some plays, but was never consistent. Great athlete and hopefully finds a team that can use his skill sets.
Mbawke is a head scratcher. He saw a ton of playing time in the secondary and special teams as a true freshman. Like others said, it has to be $$$ because he surely would be starting next season. I had high hopes for him under Deboer and the fact he was an in state kid was even more satisfying. It's getting exhausting to keep up with the transfers and this ridiculous portal!!

Ole Miss is involved. Remember what I said about Ole Miss the other day. There was reason to why I said all of this.

I wish the kid well and There's a saying.. The grass isn't always greener at Ole Miss or anywhere else. Good new is.. We're doing the same thing to other players on another team.. just not what Ole miss is doing.
