Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Reliaquest Bowl, Bama vs. Michigan, Dec. 31, 11:00 AM, ESPN...

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

You honestly don’t know about the OL mutiny? Again, watch the USF game.

this is not what happened. Milroe got benched that game bc of his crappy attitude after the Texas loss. They didn’t put bad tape out there to take food out their mouth to prove a point. Two years of just as bad o line play proves that. Just stop it

For everyone blaming Sheridan… he got Bernard 15 yards open all day but it’s a shame he wasn’t the one throwing him the ball.

While that’s a true statement, the coaching staff should have known Milroe couldn’t make those throws because he couldn’t see them. It was a decision by the offensive staff to play Milroe this year, and this game. At this point in the season, you know what you have with him. He wasn’t going to magically be able to even attempt those throws. To me, that’s on coaching as much as it is Milroe. Either call plays Milroe and the offense has some chance to execute, or play someone else.

Milroe’s stock is falling faster than a pair of over-stretched tighty-whities. He did himself no favors today. In hindsight, I’m betting he wishes he’d opted out. (Lord knows, most of us wish that, too.)
We would be celebrating a victory right now if that had happened. I’m absolutely convinced of that.

Even if you ignore the fact that he’s been terrible forever and give him the benefit of the doubt that he was just having a bad day, there’s no excuse for not putting someone else on the field, even if it’s just for one possession. Sometimes a change can create a spark. If it doesn’t work out, you can put him back in. You can’t argue that destroying his confidence would make him any worse.

I don’t have time for this. You clearly haven’t been paying attention if you think Ty can’t play.

And the reason I lost respect for Saban is because he let the players choose the QB.
Obviously you have an exceeding amount of time for this as you haven’t stopped spouting this on every page of every thread for two years.

I think we settled with Milroe because of the locker room.

Next year we will have DeBoer’s offense so I think we will have a better system

The problem is that Milroe is the quarterback. He is Derrick Henry trying to throw the ball.
If Derrick Henry is your quarterback when you'd have to be an idiot to try to have him pass the ball wouldn't you?

My take on this the whole time has been Alabama should have developed the running game and relied on it more. You can't just turn it on late in the season on a whim, not that Alabama tried to do that. But imagine for instance how this game goes if even at a woeful 2.5 yards per rush, Alabama just rushes the ball more earlier (and punts). They don't gift the game to Michigan, all because they didn't let Milroe go out and screw things up.

Alabama didn't have to do anything special to beat Michigan, Michigan only had 190 yards total offense. This absolutely could have been 2009 championship game GMac (only 11 attempts) and they could have won. They put the game in Milroe's hands, they chose to do that and this is how it went...

I’m not saying he can’t play, to be clear. I’m saying I don’t believe his lack of paying time across three seasons and multiple regimes is some grand conspiracy.

Why do you think he isn’t playing?

I think he’ll he quietly shown the door and will transfer. He won’t be the QB next year.
DOn't think CKD has the fortitude to do that. He couldn't even sit him for one series in a game that Milroe played terribly. Hope I'm wrong. Hope he can be ushered off to the NFL or the transfer portal. Why any team would draft him i don't know. But the colts drafted A. Richardson from UF and he had shown nothing other that a super strong arm and lightening fast. And he is horrid. NFL teams draft stupidly quite often

Yep, I remember the Ole Miss preview. Jess made it clear he thought Ty was getting the start. Then of course, Milroe started the game and threw another INT in the end zone and STILL came back out. I lost all my respect for Saban at that point.
Really, that made you lose all respect for Coach? They made the playoffs and was a defensive stop from playing for the national championship . I guess he really didn’t need your respect after all. C’mon with the over the top comments. So you have no respect for the man that won 6 national championships for the school you cheer for? Really? Not trying to attack, but come on.
