The bright side of today….I don’t wonder if we should have been in the playoffs, and what we could have done as I watch the rest of these playoff games.

I know Milroe won’t be back. Best of luck to him in his next phase. He seems like a good kid. I just won’t miss him as our QB.

Justice Haynes averaged 5.7 per rush. Young averaged 5.6.

May be some of the issue is Jam Miller, I don't know because we never really saw a consistent enough rush attack to evaluate, but I do know the other two guys ran well when given a chance. Haynes only got two carries, it's hard to say well Michigan had him bottled up after only two attempts isn't it?

That's the issue, we just flat out refused to give these guys a shot most of the time. Having said that, the less you run the less effective your run game tends to be. It requires more discipline than the passing game which is more skill based.
our runs are RPOs the require the QB to make the right read. he often does not.

What game are you watching today to suggest we had any running game. Outside of a few runs by Milroe and Richard Young Michigan dominated our offensive line today.
With a few quick passing plays or busted scrambles, it could've opened up. It's NOT opened because the D isn't required to defend the entire field. It's not like playing Madden and just calling what we're feeling. We don't/can't run it because they have numbers in the box. We don't respond by throwing it where they ain't

I know this, but I've also reiterated that there's nothing that says you have to run RPOs. You can literally tell him to just hand the ball off.

Also, for instance is that reverse, one of the best plays of the game an RPO? I don't think you call it up like that do you, I think it's just a play that they ran that worked.

If RPOs aren't working then don't run RPOs, or you certainly run less of them.

They stopped running Young, he was the best back in the game today. He ran N-S. Jam is a big back that likes to dance sometimes. I still think we are good at RB for next year.

Maybe not for much longer on the Seattle front. Lots of smoke that Grubb may be out. Although what we might not like is that he is likely out due to his refusal to run the ball, which resulted in a poor offensive output. Might be a lump of goal wrapped in a gift bag though. Then again CNS was a pretty good judge of coaching talent at the college level and he surely wanted him. Doesn't make him perfect but it matters for something.
Doesn’t mean he’s coming here. He got lucky to get that job out there. He was not coming to Alabama last year, why would he this year?

I will be shocked if DeBoer holds the locker room together after that game. The next 5 days will determine his future at Alabama.
Or how he reacts to what is going to happen and what he does to fix what will probably be a ton of upheaval and unrest in the locker room and a ton of pressure from outside the locker room. But tha't why you are paid 10 million a year.

Jan 1st and Dec 31st have… If we had a quarterback that could hit a slant then we are 2-0 vs Michigan

Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
It very likely confirms that the coaching brain trust that made Washington run is Ryan Grubb who is now OC with the Seattle Seahawks. Disagree or criticize my opinion but I don't see DeBoer capable of success in the SEC. We hear frequently about installing his "system". From my perspective that "system" is playing QB with the Alanta Falcons and coaching in Seattle.
Every QB he's had except Milroe has put up big numbers in his offense. It still doesn't excuse a lot of the bad coaching but when he's been able to put in his system, QB's flourish....except Milroe.

That puts a wrap on what for me is a somewhat disappointing season. I really thought Milroe would be a Cam Newton clone when he got a center who could put the ball somewhere in his vicinity. Looks like I was wrong. I wish Milroe the best. I hope he goes pro and - with more extensive coaching - does great there. Next season I'm hoping for a QB who can read the defenses better and make quicker decisions. And an OL that can open holes for the RBs and better protect the QB.

Now I'm pulling for SC, LSU, TX, OM, and UGA in the upcoming bowls. Also Penn State.

Take away the UGA game and what do you have? The same ol’ Milroe. The conclusion can only be that the UGA game was a fluke.
Well; actually he was also very good against Wisconsin, Missouri and LSU. There seemed to be no in between; when he gets in trouble he is toast.

that's what we tried last year, with it pre-determined before the snap if it was give/keep from the sideline. Teams are loading the box so we have to try to do something to freeze one defender and have enough blockers. The RPO leaves the 'read' guy unblocked so it gives us a chance. They know Jm isn't likely to hit a quick pass so even with the box stacked they can usually drop out into coverage if we pass and have time to get where they need to be.

And that center everyone was blaming went on to win the Remington as the best center in college football and if he had not been injured, likely a R1 pick.
