Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
Colin Cowherd (I know but he works in LA) reports he’s going to UCLA which I suspected.
Then we KNOW he's not getting what he got at UcheaT. Cowherd said the other day if he went to UCLA he would take a significant cut in NIL money because their NIL coffers aren't filled with much money.

What Nico has done is very self centered and obnoxious! But UT has blame as well in all of this when they paid him in highschool and gave him the 8 million dollar deal, which I believe was the first big NIL deal there was, so they think they are squeaky clean but they are not in all of this

If you do take him back, even at a discount, what do you think would happen if he starts to play well? You think he's going to just take what the deal was or do you think he'd sit out again to try to get his deal back?
That's a good question, but they'd be able to get some sense of whether or not he's genuine when they sit down and talk to him about coming back. This would be only be under the condition that he is visibly remorseful. You have to be able to sell it to the locker room that you're (the staff) the ones in control, and that Nico is the only one doing this out of necessity, otherwise you've set a dangerous precedent that can only be fixed by firing the coach. If there's any doubt at all, then you just don't go through with it. There is obviously no way to be 100% certain that he won't pull the stunt that you described above, but you might be able to tell with 75% certainty. There's clearly some risk involved, but if he ever develops into his potential, then $1.2 million is a steal.

I just read where the "I'm a Leave" team are saying he never asked for more money at Tennessee. What the...
If that were true, Clan Iamaleava would be suing a lot of media outlets for diminution of value.

They're not doing that. They may post on InstaFace or wheatever the platform du jour might be. But they're legally silent because if they sue, they'd be subject to discovery -- IOW emails, social media posts, texts, etc.

They'd also be ubject to depositions and other court testimony under subpoena and under oath. IOW, if they lie, they're subject to criminal charges.

Clan Iamaleva's silence on any front that matters is deafening.

I've seen Nic Iamaleava referred to as "Levar Ball without the charm." There have been so many stories about athletes that have gone broke because they can't leave their old crew behind. That's pretty hard to do when the main leach is your dad and you're Polynesian. I hope he can make this work out in the future, but he's learning a hard lesson right now.

I won't laugh. The way a lot of people describe our LANK situation, we were perilously close to a similar set of circumstances -- players not giving their best effort, or threatening to do so, unless certain other guys played.

I don't know if that happened or not. I do know that a number of credible posters on this site think it did.

If that did in fact go on, it's not much different from what Pate is alleging happened at UTe.

It was the nail in the ole coffin. It still ticks me off to this day.
And it probably gives the Bama fan base even more disgust with the current model.

UM and TOSU probably have fans that feel similarly, but they've mangaged to navigate a NC in the last couple of years in the midst of it!

Which, when you step back and look at it, perhaps it explains how suddenly the superior SEC, isn't producing the top teams anymore!!!
