Agreed. And the current Democratic party is a far cry from it's liberal leanings from just 20 years ago. It has been taken over by progressives and the cowardly liberals have allowed it to happen. No fight to be found among any of them. The current Republican party is not a conservative party anymore.

No, its about money but not Kimmel losing it. It was simply a result of Nexstar wanting to clear the way for a 6.2 billion merger with Tegna. Lookup Brendan Carr's statements over the last years and try to square them with what he is saying today. Carr has suddenly become the darling of Fox. Nexstar set it all in motion and right wing Sinclair jumped on the band wagon. What I've been hoping to find out is if this show was hemorrhaging money like Colbert's show was doing. If so, then Disney played this out perfectly. They ended a losing business venture and found a way to blame someone else. Pretty savvy you ask me.
I'd imagine it was losing money at this point....I think the highest rated show for late night has been GutfeldWhat I've been hoping to find out is if this show was hemorrhaging money like Colbert's show was doing. I couldn’t find anything about his revenue. Evidently Disney doesn’t release that info. I did find an interview with him commenting on Colbert. What I've been hoping to find out is if this show was hemorrhaging money like Colbert's show was doing. Is there concrete proof that these organization conspired with the government to have Kimmel canceled? No, its about money but not Kimmel losing it. Open your eyes and mind. Its not a coincidence that Paramount was in the same situation. Is there concrete proof that these organization conspired with the government to have Kimmel canceled?
Late night has fell off a cliff compared to the days of David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, and Jay Leno. Going back and watching old episodes of the likes of Chris Farley on Letterman and Leno makes you realize just how far television has slipped since then.I'd imagine it was losing money at this point....I think the highest rated show for late night has been Gutfeld
Top late-night shows by key demo (Adults 18-49):
- Gutfeld!: Leads the late-night genre, averaging a higher number of viewers in the key demographic and younger demographics compared to the broadcast shows.
I think conspired is the wrong word. It’s clear that the Trump Administration threatened FCC sanctions against the affiliates and the parent company if Kimmel wasn’t punished. Even if it’s a remarkable coincidence, the government’s actions are gravely concerning to those who value free speech. Is there concrete proof that these organization conspired with the government to have Kimmel canceled?
Threats were made, it's true. I'm curious, did the FCC ever actually do anything?I think conspired is the wrong word. They didn’t have to. Kimmel was dealt with, so the Trump Administration was satisfied. I don’t think that makes what the government did any more acceptable. It can’t be considered ok for the government to make such threats as long as they don’t carry them out.Threats were made, it's true. I'm curious, did the FCC ever actually do anything?
No, no, I agree with you. I asked the question because if the FCC actually DID something, that sounds to me like it's time to fire up the lawyers and put them to work. They didn’t have to. Yep, I used to watch Leno, liked Conan too. Stopped watching when they were gone. And about that time, SNL fell off too, haven't watched it in years.Late night has fell off a cliff compared to the days of David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, and Jay Leno. The moment a threat is made (by the government agency) that implies or could be taken to imply desired action, then they are square in the wrong.Threats were made, it's true. I'm curious, did the FCC ever actually do anything?

I agree. Seems to me Disney should be putting their money where their mouths are.The moment a threat is made (by the government agency) that implies or could be taken to imply desired action, then they are square in the wrong.
Didn't the Biden administration pressure most of the social media companies to police covid statements made by users? They didn’t have to. That free speech is misinformation, so it doesn’t count for some on here.Didn't the Biden administration pressure most of the social media companies to police covid statements made by users?
I'm trying to understand how Kimmel getting canceled has anything to do with the Trump administration. Did Trump call and say, suspend him....if he doesn't apologize fire him.
Disney fired Gina Carano a few years ago for a post she made. Companies can hire and fire whomst they want.
