In a stunning moment, JD Vance was just booed relentlessly at the Olympics. Wow. The Trump-Vance admin is humiliating us on the world stage.
If condemning the posting and defending of a racist meme by the Trump Administration is virtue signaling, then the bar for “virtue” has sunk so low it’s underground. Calling out obvious racism from people in power is not performative morality. It is the bare minimum of civic responsibility. And if being openly disgusted by that racism means I'm part of the "approved crowd," count me in.Here or in general?
How much virtue signaling is required to be officially on record as part of the approved crowd?
Suggesting everyone has to speak up or their silence means approval is why we have so much mindless (and ineffective) virtue signaling now.
At no point have I said that anyone posting disgust for this behavior is virtue signaling - I've explained that if one feels compelled to do so simply so they won't be considered vile, that's what it is.If condemning the posting and defending of a racist meme by the Trump Administration is virtue signaling, then the bar for “virtue” has sunk so low it’s underground. Again, I've no problem with someone assuming someone is maga based on their postings, whether that assumption is correct or not.I don't think that a person should be judged based on not posting to a particular issue, but if someone has a history of many posts critical of Democrats while remaining quiet on clearly outrageous actions by Trump/Republicans (even with the occasional "I don't like Trump" disclaimer), then they shouldn't be surprised to find themselves associated with the MAGA crowd.
Upon reexamination of your original post as well as reading your subsequent ones, it's clear that I misinterpreted your intent. I apologize for that mistake. At no point have I said that anyone posting disgust for this behavior is virtue signaling - I've explained that if one feels compelled to do so simply so they won't be considered vile, that's what it is.
It's not a difficult idea, I was simply responding to this quote:
"Trump is an absolutely vile human being and if you keep silent about this video, you're vile as well IMO."
Again, I've no problem with someone assuming someone is maga based on their postings, whether that assumption is correct or not.
I simply suggested that calling anyone who doesn't respond in a specific way a 'vile person' is wrong.
Thats why its called a cult.I'm just tired of our president doing these immature and in this case, racist things. At what point is he going to be held accountable? Anybody else would have been out of a job at this point. I am not virtue signaling. I am expressing how much i despise the guy and i wish people(both online and offline) would try to hold him accountable when he does stuff like this. This is a free country, so i can't force my views on anyone, but i am free to express outrage when something like this happens. Maybe i crossed the line. But, Trump has crossed so many lines, people have become desensitized.

you have to have empathy and take into account the daily tyranny of woke that they are subject to.View attachment 55521
Trump is suing the government for $10 billion over something that happened while he was president. If this money was being spent to feed starving children in Africa, there'd be cries to cut it as wasteful. Since it'll be going to Trump, the budget hawks are silent. Hypocrisy reigns in the MAGA cult.
Oh, so it's the originator's fault that Trump posted it. Got it. No big deal folks, Trump didn't originate the racist video so it's no big deal.
Will MAGA ever condemn the vile actions of this disgusting human?
Thats a rhetorical question. I know the answer based on what a few Trump supporters have posted in response. Like always, they are complaining more about our response then the disgusting behavior of this president.
It seems like there's a pattern here...
