Trump's Policies XI

He claims not to have watched it to the end and didn't see the offensive part, and that it was put up by a staffer (wonder how many staffers are up at 2:00 AM and have the credentials to post in his name on "Truth Social.") IOW, it's a bald-faced lie, like most coming out of his mouth. IF what he said was true, he could apologize for having his staffer do it. Not him, not the way Kohn taught him...

SOP, distrust and verify.

No, just couldn’t care less what Europeans think about us after what they’ve done to their own countries.
OK, then you won't care about this...

There are so many times l realize the current President is the perfect microcosm of current society. Go on social media, react, troll, threaten, whine, rant. The only real difference is he’s the one person in a position to do some of the stupid things people say online (like, “why doesn’t the US annex Canada and Greenland? What are they gonna do about it?”).

Before anyone says it, I’ve said plenty of dumb things online, l just haven’t committed any felonies at this point.

A little OT, but I was just the last person to find out "trump" is British slang for "fart," and has been since at least the 1500s. It comes from Old French "trompe," for "trumpet." Very fitting, since he let a big one at a British state dinner...

Now, where exactly in the Constitution do we find the power to close bridges. He says Article II gives him the power to do anything he wants. I don't read it that way (nor does anyone else). I suppose he could have the CBP not declare it a POE and line up his ICE force across the US border, which I assume is in the middle. Of course, he's POed about Canada's proposed trade deal with China. In his statement about Canadian players not playing hockey and China ending the Stanley Cup. Before long, he will be proposing a wall along the Canadian border. Wait for it...

First they came for the right to a free press and I didn't care because I only watched Fox News.

Then they came for the right to free speech and I didn't care because I said what they said.

Then they came for my right to freedom of religion. I didn't care because they said that they followed my religion.

Then they came for my right to due process. I didn't care because I wasn't an immigrant.

Then they came for my right to habeas corpus. I didn't care because I wasn't in jail.

And then they came for my second amendment rights. And the media didn't warn me and I couldn't complain about it. And they said God wanted the government to take my weapons.

Then I refused to give him up. Then they took them anyway.

Then they put me in prison without a trial, without a judge.

So I went to a camp in another country that I couldn't leave. And there I met the people I used to mock.

And it wasn't an accident. It was a plan.

Trump: "So I put on a 30% tariff, which is very low. I got an emergency call from I believe the prime minister of Switzerland. She was very aggressive ... I didn't really like the way she talked to us, so instead of giving her a reduction, I raised it to 39%."

I would love to see someone punch this arrogant jerk right in his obnoxious mouth.

Grand Jury Rebuffs Justice Dept. Attempt to Indict 6 Democrats in Congress

The rejection was a remarkable rebuke, suggesting that ordinary citizens did not believe that the lawmakers had committed any crimes.
Federal prosecutors in Washington sought and failed on Tuesday to secure an indictment against six Democratic lawmakers who posted a video this fall that enraged President Trump by reminding active-duty members of the military and intelligence community that they were obligated to refuse illegal orders, four people familiar with the matter said.

It was remarkable that the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington — led by Jeanine Pirro, a longtime ally of Mr. Trump’s — authorized prosecutors to go into a grand jury and ask for an indictment of the six members of Congress, all of whom had served in the military or the nation’s spy agencies.

But it was even more remarkable that a group of ordinary citizens sitting on the grand jury in Federal District Court in Washington rejected the effort, sending a signal that they did not believe that the lawmakers had committed any crimes.

It had been exceedingly rare for grand jurors to rebuff requests by prosecutors seeking indictments, although it has happened with increased frequency to the Justice Department under Mr. Trump, as his appointees push ahead with questionable cases.

The move to charge the lawmakers — among them, Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona and Senator Elissa Slotkin of Michigan — was, by any measure, an extraordinary attempt by prosecutors to politicize the criminal justice system even for a Justice Department that has repeatedly shattered norms of independence from the White House and followed Mr. Trump’s directives to prosecute his adversaries.

Prosecutors presenting the case sought to persuade the grand jurors that the lawmakers had violated a statute that forbids interfering with the loyalty, morale or discipline of the U.S. armed forces, according to one of the people familiar with the matter.

They sought to bring charges against Mr. Kelly, Ms. Slotkin and their four colleagues in the House: Jason Crow, a former Army Ranger; Maggie Goodlander, a former Navy reservist; Chrissy Houlahan, a former Air Force officer; and Chris Deluzio, a Navy veteran.

The Justice Department declined to comment.

As bad as trumps policies have been, what does that say about all of those who continue to support him.:(

I read an article that said that the billionaire US owner of the other toll bridge came to meet with Lutnik complaining that the bridge would impact his asset which he inherited. Lutnik went to Trump who then realized that Canada had built the bridge under a local deal with Detroit ( I believe) to recoup the cost of the bridge through tolls. I understand the bridge was built using Canadian and US materials equally. Now Trump creates a major issue as the bridge is near completion!
