Which game will Tebow be knocked out in?

Tebow is gracing alot of the covers of the summer college football magazines. Herbstreit has all but called him the greatest college football athlete he's ever seen (he says the same thing about a different guy every year). So my gut feeling is that he won't be "as good" when he's in at every down. There are ALOT of big defensive ends in the SEC just waiting to crack his skull open. So with that said how long do you think he'll last this season?

Unfortunately , I doubt he misses a play . The guy played 3/4's of a game on a broken leg - and was still initiating contact - during his 11th grade season .
He's not hype . :frown:

SEC aint high school though, lets see how long he tries to butt heads with SEC LB's full time. he'll need gaterade breaks often..

I hate to say it but IMHO Tebow is the real deal.

Try to catch the first or second episode of the first season of Two A Days on Mtv. The episode I'm talking about is the game where Hoover plays Nease at the Hoover Met. During that game he lit up the Hoover defense with several 30+ yard touchdowns on an August afternoon. The only reason Hoover won was because of JPW's little brother lighting up the Nease defense and the Hoover running game dominating the line of scrimmage. You can hear Rush Propst saying "We're in a shootout!"

We haven't seen Tebow's passing game yet because Meyer just used him as a glorified running back all season so that Chris Leak could show off to the NFL scouts. Trust me, Meyer will unleash Tebow this season. His size and speed will prove him to be a DT's worst nightmare, alot like Jamarcus Russell. If UF didn't lose so much on defense last year, I'd pick them to win the SEC and even compete for the MNC.

I'm glad we don't play them this year. That being said, I think the barn and UT will give Tebow the first real SEC starting QB's test, and I think he'll light them up. :BigA:

Man i would love nothing better than to see him get knocked out, but he is one big strong kid!! He loves contact and maybe that will be his downfall.
I would never want anyone to be injured, just shaking up a bit and humbled!

I don't want to see him get knocked out, but think he eventually will get shaken up pretty good. He can get pretty emotional and pumped, which I think will eventually lead to some injury. He can get an (Ted Ginn/ Redskin QB who gave himself a concussion injury) where he gets hurt overcelebrating or an injury when he does too much and tries for that extra yard and puts his head down going up against some big 260+ lb. LB/DL.

I think that us Alabama fans should show more class than wanting to see anyone get knocked out.
Tebow is a good kid that happens to be an excellent athlete. I hope that he does very well unless he gets to face our defense.

AMEN to that!

Also, Meyer is NO fool. He's not going to run Tebow up the middle, or around the end on every play. I doubt that Tebow will run as much as Tyler Watts did in Fran's offense. Meyer has plenty of weapons to choose from.

Exactly - he's not going to be running "up the gut" plays everytime he's in there next year. He's going to passing a lot more and doing what needs to be done along with all of the weapons he'll have around him.

Sure, if he tries to do too much and encourage unnecessary contact he will probably get hurt at some point.. but I don't see that happening necessarily and keep in mind that any player can be hurt on any play. (like even QB's running out of bounds)

I'm ready to see someone get a big hit on Tebow, but I want to see him get up. There's no point in hoping he gets injured just because he spurned us. He's not even an Aubie for goodness sakes!

Great topic. You should be proud. I hope Tebow gets hit on the first play and never plays again. Maybe even gets paralyzed. Is that what you're hoping for?

Geez. Some of you act like he's going to run the ball every play. He's a QB. That means that he throws the ball. He happens to be a dual-threat, which means that at times, he will tuck it up and run. But he's still a QB, not a RB.

This thread has come up because Tebow jilted Alabama for Florida. Move on, Tebow was a Florida lock all the way, he did like CMS and the publicity he received during his recruitment so he drug out the process and enjoyed the attention.

Coach Meyer is too smart to unnecessarily risk injury to Tebow, he has too many weapons at his disposal to deliberately put Tebow at risk. IMO, if Tebow stays healthy he will be the best Florida QB since SOS.

I never said I WANTED him to get knocked out. I simply stated that he's pretty popular on the food chain as far as opponent SEC Defenses go. You can't tell me those boys from Georgia, Tennessee, S. Carolina, etc. aren't licking their lips to get a shot at him. I think all this chosen one, phenom, superman talk has given him some publicity that he may soon regret. I think he would have done great at Alabama and if Coach Saban would have been in charge I think Tebow would be suiting up for his sophmore year in T-town. That being said I know that there are going to be alot of defenses gunning for him. I hate to say it as well be he's good. Not many people ran over two LSU defensive ends like they were cheerleaders last year.

Ummmmm no this thread came up because he's on just about every college football preview magazine that has come out lately and I would have brought it up regardless of who recruited him.

To be honest, I see Stephen McGee (TAMU) getting himself injured long before somebody like Tebow. Tebow isn't an idiot, and doesn't initiate contact where he doesn't have to.

I saw a few TAMU games on TV last year (*cough* Texas) where McGee ran head-first into a brick wall, then stood up and got mouthy with the defense.
