I'm not a baseball guy so I didn't know Jenks but man, 44 years old from stomach cancer is horrible. Rest in peace man. Dang.

His story gets worse.

1) He lost a home in the California wildfires back in January - he lost everything he had except for his World Series ring and one suitcase he had with him in Portugal

2) He was planning to be here in Chicago just five days from now to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the White Sox World Series team; he was the closer.

Matt was a member of the 1995 Atlanta Braves, and although he was traded to Boston on September 1, he was given a World Series ring for his contributions to the team by owner Ted Turner.
