*If Gurley is healthy, I agree. If he goes down there is no way they win.Except aubie ain't going 10-2. Both us and Georgia will beat them.

EXACTLY. I was scanning this thread, expecting someone to post this. This (once again this year) is NOT a case of Stanford getting lucky. Every year, the media and a vast majority of college football fandom are mezmerized by the Ducks flashy offense, and time after time they go down at the hands of a team that plays physical, ball control power football. Heck, AU's defense during their BCS run was mediocre by SEC standards, yet good enough to allow $Cam & Co. to play keep away.Good post. Y'all have a good team but in my objective opinion as long as there are teams like Stanford, Bama and even Fla State y'all will have a very hard time winning it all. You could see it in the UCLA game and it was more than obvious in last nights game. Y'all's offense and defense struggles against traditional style power/physical teams. It's cool to see the "blur" offense against weaker teams but I just don't think it can make hay against the more physical style teams. Tapatalk
Nice post and a classy thread stared by our duck visitor. I think the Quack Attack is good for college football. The loud unis and the fast paced, high scoring offenses they have fielded over the past few years add a tremendous amount to our game. But speed and finesse teams will always come up short against defensive oriented teams with discipline and good running games. That is how this sport was built and the fundamental formula for success.EXACTLY. I was scanning this thread, expecting someone to post this. I'm not saying that Oregon could never beat Bama - the Ducks have weapons and would present matchup problems. However, Bama would have to shoot themselves in the foot (turnovers, special teams blunders, etc.) to get beat. The recipe for championships is bullying: punch you in the mouth and keep the ball away from you.
Who do you think they'll lose to?I still don't believe FSU will finish undefeated. Baylor too. We may not be undefeated. November just got started. There's still a lot of football left. The NC possibility is still open for a lot of teams including Oregon. If you don't believe this, you did not watch the last few years of college football.
The hurry up, read option stuff is cute. Cute, but there's no getting around getting man handled at the point of attack. When the D tackle blows up the guard, it doesn't matter what the QB read - the play is doomed. Oregon gave up on even trying to run the ball last night.Good post. That kicker is good. If Oregon had gotten that last on-side kick, the game could have turned out differently. With the way that ball was bouncing, I didn't think Stanford would be able to recover it/catch it.Tonight sucked. Like last year, Stanford plays it's best game of the year against us and we choked hard. They outclassed us, and it was embarrassing. Hopefully Mariota decides to come back and we get a shot at the title next year.
That said, if we can't go to the Natty, I'm rooting for you guys to win out and complete the greatest dynasty. Admire your program and your players and how you guys manage to fight through and avoid the 'choke' games like this. Your team oozes class and consistency. It's impressive. Best of luck the rest of the year! Cheers and Roll tide.
Posts like this remind us that there are some very good people out there pulling for every college football program. That is the thought that keeps me from "celebrating" the defeat of teams like Oregon. Sure, a lot of blow hards were shut up last night, but they will be back. But folks like OreGUN were also impacted by the loss, and I feel for them.Tonight sucked. Like last year, Stanford plays it's best game of the year against us and we choked hard. Thank you. I rooted hard for y'all when Oregon played the Barn for the BCS Championship.Tonight sucked. Like last year, Stanford plays it's best game of the year against us and we choked hard. They were undefeated, ranked in the top-ten, and cruising when they lost to 3-2 N.C. State last year.Who do you think they'll lose to?
The 4-5 team, the 4-4 team, the 1-8 team, or the other 4-4 team left on their schedule?
Or maybe you think they'll lose the rematch in the ACCCG to the team they just beat 41-14?
If you don't mind I will offer an opinion, the Gators are a completely different team when they play FSU, just last year showed you that. Doesn't the ACC have a championship game? That could be your next one.Who do you think they'll lose to?

I've got to say that Tidefans is such a great board that it attracts the best from other teams if these two are an example. I love talking college football to other non-Bama fans but around here in Orangeland their ignorance often wins through and they get really stupid.Posts like this remind us that there are some very good people out there pulling for every college football program. Only one fan base will be really happy at the end of this ride, but I don't celebrate the sadness created for the rest (with only a few exceptions)
Greg, not sure I'm following since Stanford did beat CK's team last year.Stanford was a little intimidated by Chip Kelley's Oregon, not anymore. Be interesting to see how Oregon responds from here.
They lost to NC State last year -- unranked (and Tennessee beat the tar out of NC St). I know they're a different team but I wouldn't be surprised if they trip up. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if we trip up on one ourselves. I never expect undefeated as that requires a bit of luck to go along with the great play a team needs to get there.Who do you think they'll lose to?
