I didn't know much about Barrett Sallee but I don't have respect after the way he called out Saban today. Talking about how Saban is mistreating Jalen and this has exposed him as a liar. Give me a break. I'm a huge fan of Jalen but all of these hot takes that are making out Alabama and CNS to be the bad guys is unnecessary.

Only difference between Sallee and possum laying in the middle of a road are the skid marks where someone attempted to stop....for the possum.

The biggest Barn homer around that tries desperately to pass himself off as “objective”.

He was Cam Newton’s “water toter” back in 2010.

Whatsa mattah witchoo? You expect him to have all (or even most ) of the facts, THEN to provide some context, before trashing whoever is in the chair? SMH.

Barrett Sallee worked for Bleacher Report for a few years. My dog could write for them. I'm so not impressed with BS.

Barrett Sallee is exactly what you'd expect from a sports journalist who is an Auburn grad and covers SEC football. When it regards Alabama athletics, he's always being a little twit. Whatever.

Maybe I have him confused with someone else, but wasn't he very fair and supportive of Alabama last year?

He picks his battles and they tend to be on moral grounds. He knows football well enough.

Hey guys....was thinking about this a little this morning. Does anyone else thing that Coach Saban feels a little bad for Jalen?

Sure....Coach Saban has his football policies and philosophies about talking to the media and saying stuff that may be poisonous to the team chemistry.

But we all know he has a huge heart too.

I just wonder how his heart is reacting to the (apparent) mental struggles Jalen is going through.

I mean....as far as we know....up until now, Jalen has given his all for Coach Saban and the team. And even this incident doesn't change the fact that he's been there in every capacity possible.

As far as team chemistry - if Tua truly is the unofficial starter.....surely that takes a load off Coach Saban's mind and team chemistry *should be* in pretty good shape.

Bottom line is Coach Saban has a job to do and that takes precedent over everything else, but he still has a heart and cares for his players.

Just a thought I had and wanted to share.....

My guess is that he feels less bad for him now than before. I think Saban is always looking at the big picture, though, while some of us get caught up in the preview.

I am watching College Football Live on ESPN. Gene Chizik just said that, going purely off of Jalens' comments, that there was a lack of communication. I will paraphrase a little but he did go on to say that all positions are open to competition. That made me think. Should communication about position battles be different based on position? Is it fine to not communicate specifically to the RBs about the competition but thoroughly communicate a position that traditionally doesn't switch out players such as QB?

As previously noted, if Jalen Hurts expected to be the starting qb, you'd never have heard a peep from him about suffering the fact that the coaches didn't talk to him.

On an interesting side note I noticed that Protho reposted the comments from Jalen's mom on Facebook. He didn't comment further, but I suppose posting it was a comment in and of itself.

In a lot of ways the fallout from these comments is like looking in a mirror. If you had one attitude before it, it just cements that position. I see posts on the subject, and people are responding to it exactly how I would expect them to respond for the most part. If you questioned Jalen, it's just another reason to question him. That's just how it is, but I do hope this ends well for all parties involved.

I wonder if I have missed something the last few days. Has Saban done a press conference since Saturday? I am sure the question about Jalen's comments would have come up if he had, but I have not seen one or heard mention of it.
