You do realize that Kirby did us no favors vs Clemson and Coker and Kiffin were the heroes of that National Championship.
Also as far as talent around him.... Right now its hard to tell although I would say the one huge thing going in Milroe's favor is that the best RB on the team was behind 3 guys on the depth chart. Aside from Henry and Ridley Coker really didnt have much else going for him. Sure you can lump Stewart, Kelly, and Howard in if you want but lets face it OJ was hardly used and Stewart was an average receiver. Milroe has probably a far better receiving group than Coker did. Bonds, Burton, Hale, and Nihlblack. TBH Coker's go to in critical areas was Mulaney not Ridley.
IDK Coker made far quicker decisions than Milroe ever did last year. Everyone will forever remember Milroe's hail mary to Billy Joe to beat Auburn but had that not happened everyone would be talking about all the points he left on the field by refusing to make a decision to run. We got like 3 linemen down field calls and numerous negative plays because Milroe wants to strike up the band with his arm so much. We can blame the offensive line until the cows come home but at some point you have to admit a good portion of the blame is Milroe not making quick decisions. Coker never tried to be something he is not, and that is probably is the major difference. Milroe wants to be Tom Brady when he should be Jalen Milroe. I think his shortcomings as a passer really do bother him so much so that he is constantly worried what some scout or person on X thinks and it affects his game.
If Deboer can find a way to simplify the game for Milroe I think we can win alot of games and have a shot at a NC. His talent is unquestionable but how he uses it can be the difference between a repeat of last year's struggles and a guy that is truly living up to his potential.
