I checked out his twitter account after seeing it. He had one about leaving Tuscaloosa and not looking forward to the 6 hour drive.

"It appears that Valdosta’s Malcolm Mitchell and Jay Rome are definitely going to have their college announcements separately this Thursday. Both players are scheduled to unveil their decisions between Alabama and Georgia that day. But Rome has decided to make his announcement live on ESPNU at 5:30 p.m. (location currently undetermined). Mitchell told me he’s going to stick with his plan to announce at 7 p.m. at the Hibachi Grill and Buffet in Valdosta. It will be carried live by some local radio stations (92.1 FM, 1150 AM and 96.1 FM)."

If you had a choice, would you rather them be separate or together? Interesting question. I could be way off base. But I believe we get Mitchell. Not so sure about Rome. So if they were together, I'd feel worse about it. I'm glad they are separate.

Mitchell just missed the cut for 5-star status on Rivals -- he is ranked No. 30 overall and is the No. 1 CB.

darn it i was hoping for the kid to get what he deserved!

Number one CB ranking and one of the highest moves from the last update to this one is a huge accomplishment and I think he got exactly what he deserved. He didn't have a senior season worth granting him a 5th star but he did deserve to be recognized as the best CB due to his athletic and ball skills. Good for him

I think someone mentioned this earlier but this means we will have the #1 CBs from the past 3 years on our team! I am predicting Mitchell to be a great one based strictly on his athleticism, size, and ball skills.
