I made a statement to my old barner fishin pard last week that cam is the only reason *U won last year, and if Bama hadn't taken their foot off the throttle Bama would have won. He looked at me unbelievingly and said "You don't really believe that do you?" Tonight I'm watching the game and *U is on offense, down 3 touchdowns and acts like they are scared to throw the ball down the field, only high % passes but mostly running the ball like they are trying to run the clock out before Bama can have the ball back and score still more points on them. Trying to run against the #1 run defense in the nation.
Why wouldn't we? Heck, why wouldn't they? The really honest ones know it.

Trooper got caught mouthing off at Dre, who invited him onto the field.
And this, right here, is the reason they are a classless bunch of morons, and it all starts at the top with their "coaching" staff...but I really think calling them "coaches" is a stretch.
Really? A coach calling out a player on the field? Really? And the barn PTB are OK with this?
The most unbelievable group of delusional people....

Remember what I said: Auburn woke up the morning after they beat Oregon thinking they were a big deal. Then after breakfast they learned they were still number 2 in the state and an entire nation felt they'd bought it anyway.
So true. Love it!

I only watch *U once a year and that is when they play Bama. I find watching Malzhan's offense entertaining. Kinda like watching a Saturday morning cartoon. :wink:

A little sampling from a Barn site;

(A post referring to Roof) He has to go..I can understand youth but we are a template of what not to do when it comes to fundamental defense. The problem is we have needs with all phases of the defense. We need a technical coach who can teach these young talented players proper fundamentals. We also need an aggressive coach to teach these defenders how to instill fear in an offense. Plus, we could use a solid recruiter to bring in even more talent on defense. I cant think of a guy who brings all 3 to the table.

Chiz=Coker (needs no interpretation)

Roof's porous D and Gus' 3 and out O were the perfect storm

for the disaster we've witnessed all year. I have to go back to the 70's, when AU football was in division during the Barfield years, to recall such lop-sided losses. I've not seen a softer defense since PW Underwood, and even he had a handful of nasty players. There is no mean streak on this D. Did anyone else see us dodging the tackle?

Gus' offense may look great in the MAC or whatever conference Tulsa is in, but it sux in the SEC. And say what you want, but the Harry High School plays suck too. Just line up and make it your mission to whip the guys ... across the line of scrimmage!

I don't know what needs to happen, but I know it cant be nothing.

There are some who defend their coaches no matter what. Sound familiar?

I agree Trooper is a clown and a dirty recruiter (Barn had to stop recruiting the QB from Hueytown and he was banned from leaving campus for 45 days) but calling out a player on the field is fine with me. If he isn't doing the job, he needs a kick in the backside. No differant than Saban with McCarron last year or Curry and Wimbley.

The player mouthing back is what I have a problem with. Granted, I didn't see the exchange so I might think differantly if I had better context pf what happened.

Even though they are AU, I find it hard to believe they cannot find better coordinators than Malzahn and Roof seriously. Malzahn, IMO has now relegated his stock to a Sunbelt conference HC at the very best, he should have taken the Vandy job last year. Roof never was a D-1 level coach. I have been a critic of Malzahn since he first showed up at Arkansas and we all know why Nutt hired him to start with. His offense is geared to the high school or middle school level where trickery and confusion can win games; he is way out of his league at the FCS level. Unless he is fired you can expect him on the AU sidelines next year because he now can't go any where else. I do think Roof will be shown the door.

It feels like we had the ball alot longer than just 31 minutes.
At the end of the third quarter, time of possession was 28 minutes to 17 minutes, Bama, at which time *U had 2 first downs and 35 yards of total offense.
"D" got a pick-6 and on the next possession the "O" went 90 yards in 5 plays in 3:13. Bama had it for less than 4 minutes in the 4th quarter.

If you think some of those posts are bad....go back a week, and look at some of the posts our fans posted (on some sites) about our coaches after a pretty decisive victory....

To all recruits come to the Barn & mourn our 2 oak trees together, forget beating Bama.

The player he called out plays for Alabama not *U

The only complaining I've heard has been about Roof. That's been going on since his first season. But, losing big games does bring out the whiner in some people.

There is definitely some heavy criticism (to put it mildly) with both co-ordinators (and to a lesser degree with Chizik) right now on a couple of different boards, and it's been building since about mid-season.

The biggest thing I see with *ubarn is lack of player development particularly at the qb position but all around really. Malzahn stubbornly refuses to put the ball in his best players hands (Dyer) and work the offense around him. It just comes off as an ego thing and as a result has been exposed as a play-caller.
McCaleb is a quick little player but the hoss is/should be Dyer, he is a talented SEC back that gets better as the game goes on, I just don't see why he doesn't get more touches particularly since the qb position is well, stanky. QB-wise Trotter should still be playing, the barn offense was at least competitive with him at qb. Roof is doing the best he can on defense, I just don't think the talent is there defensively. They have no consistently dominant players on defense that other teams have to account for right now.

If you could stomach watching the Kristi Malzhan interview, she said in the interview iirc, that Dyer had an attitude. tifwiw? Ironically, she also loved Cam. But, that interview may answer your question about Dyer. Or at least sheds light on the Malzhan family's attitude towards Dyer.
