You may not have to wait until Tuesday.

Auburn beat writer David Morrison:
"Gus Malzahn waits for Ted Roof on way off field, gives a strong handshake. Roof returns with a pat on the back. Certainly looked a goodbye."

Yeah I bet those boogs guarding those trees were really the barns version of an Occupy movement. Moving to get rid of Roof, etc........

I told an auburn fan last year that cheesedip had not proven anything to me. Had it not been for two players (cam and fairley), they would not have been undefeated. He took offense to it. I haven't seen him or talked to him this year, but I would love to know if he feels the way he did last year.

Talked to an aubie grad at church last week, trying to rile him up before the game this weekend. I feel that ee are both usually level-headed and honest in the assessment of our teams so we get along pretty well. During the conversation I asked him about Gus leaving to coach UNC (we live in Boone, NC, about 3 hours from Chapel Hill). He said, "Good riddance. I'll be glad when his gimmicky offense is gone." He went on to say that the boogs only won with that offense last year because they had a freak of nature, once-in-a-lifetime athlete at QB. Then he said, "Look at the top 3 teams in the conference. What type of offense do they run?" I said, "Power football." He said, "That's what we need to do." So a sensible aubie will realize that this type offense will not work in the SEC. Urban Meyer learned it, and cheezit will eventually learn it. I just hope it will take the powers that be at boog-u 10 years or so to figure it out.

RTR! 42-14.

If they figure that out and try to make a change just take a look at how the Gators are struggling with this transition.

As others have observed, last year worked because of one Cameron Newton. Otherwise, elite defensive coordinators have figured out ole Gus.

Problem with the barn firing coaches is they all know where the bodies are buried. Look for any coaching dismissals there to be announced as "______ has decided to leave to pursue other opportunities" and for them to receive very nice severance packages.

Oh, and you can forget about them getting rid of Trooper Taylor, I think he has a lawsuit going against them and that would be considered retaliation...

I pointed this out in the game thread, but when Auburn decided to go for it on 4th in the 1st half, Malzahn and Chizik got into it on the sideline and Chizik just went walking off. It didn't seem like anyone else following the thread noticed it, but it was pretty obvious to all of us here.

Yep they are not happy on the plains:

Coach Chizik. Thank you for the 2010 National Championship!

However; you are now 1-2 vs LSU (2 beatdowns), 1-2 versus Arky (2 beatdowns), 1-2 vs uga (1 humiliation) and 1-2 vs spuat (1 humiliation). Coach that is simply below acceptable. Losing with dignity, heart and effort is OK, but the way this team has totally lacked effort, fundamentals and heart is on you. The honeymoon is over. You are on the clock with the 1st kickoff of 2011 no matter who your DC or OC and staff may be. All in and Family are cute slogans, but what happens on the field is what matters. The record of the team this year is Ok, but the lack of coaching and effort resulting in humiliation for 5 losses is not.

I made a statement to my old barner fishin pard last week that cam is the only reason *U won last year, and if Bama hadn't taken their foot off the throttle Bama would have won. He looked at me unbelievingly and said "You don't really believe that do you?" Tonight I'm watching the game and *U is on offense, down 3 touchdowns and acts like they are scared to throw the ball down the field, only high % passes but mostly running the ball like they are trying to run the clock out before Bama can have the ball back and score still more points on them. Trying to run against the #1 run defense in the nation.

And then the middle-aged sage stepped in and brought philosophy to apply to the great humor & points already made.

I told everyone here last year - Auburn winning the national title is gonna be REAL fun for us after their gloat year. Just wait until we win it again. Keep in mind our triumph this year would be even sweeter. We all know that despite their claims they want titles too. We are 60 minutes from reinforcing their inferiority complex forever.

Now that the current regime has won a title they have Ole Miss expectations. Don't be surprised if Chuzik is gone when Auburn fails to win it all next year.

Remember what I said: Auburn woke up the morning after they beat Oregon thinking they were a big deal. Then after breakfast they learned they were still number 2 in the state and an entire nation felt they'd bought it anyway.

And now they're going bonkers.

I think a telling sign for AU this year was this. Against their 3 biggest rivals, Alabama, LSU and UGA they were beat 132-31. Add in the Arkansas game and it was 170-45. I can't remember a time, even during the Shula years, where our rivals beat us that badly in one season combined. They can blame it on being "young" or even waste our time by blaming it on Tuberville but the fact of the matter is Chizik is now on his 3rd recruiting class and without Cam Newton he is 15-10.
