Bama getting no respect

Strength of schedule for one. The Big12 was a clownshow last year. Plus, take into account the context surrounding our two losses. Throw in the fact that we destroyed KSU, and the committee looks silly.

1) Our SOS (6)vs their SOS (20)wasn’t near as far off as Alabama is to Georgia presently (funny how no one implies that we should be ranked ahead of Georgia). Their SOR was better than ours. We beat Texas on the road by a late FG after knocking out Ewers, they dealt with Ewers with 0 issue and beat them on the road.

2) After selection results are irrelevant. It’s like saying Oklahoma in 2013 should have played for a national championship because they destroyed alabama. Or better yet… in 2014 TCU destroying Ole Miss in the peach bowl shows that they were more deserving than Bama or FSU.

The fact that TCU beat Michigan just as much validated the committee’s decision than Georgia destroying them showed it was the wrong decision. I mean if we are going that route do you really want to look at bogus BCS teams…

3) the context around our two losses is this… We had played close game after close game all year and we should have lost atleast 3. It bit us twice and we have only ourselves to blame

I mean what if Texas sacks Bryce instead of him scrambling away…. are we going to keep up this nonsense that we should be in as a 3 loss team? This seems more and more that if the names TCU and Oklahoma were swapped that virtually no one on here would have an issue with it.

4) Why is Tennessee not barking this same argument. Tennessee was a two loss team that beat Alabama but you don’t hear their fans screaming about being left out or even screaming about Alabama being ranked ahead of them.

no, this is not reported anywhere at this time. He is likely to have the same tightrope surgery that tua and bowers had. If he does not have the surgery he will be in rehab for a while.
That's a huge loss for Georgia. That dude is amazing. But watching UT/GA on Sat. and it seems y'all are loaded with plenty of WR depth. Everybody was making amazing catches. QB was throwing in tight windows. Hope y'all get that out of your system before the SECCG!!! :D

Of course Bama beating KSU matters!

And Tennessee had no argument at all because THEY GOT BLOWN OUT IN BOTH LOSSES. Jesus man, CONTEXT. I'm gonna keep saying it until you get it through your head. The committee failed last year, and so far they are failing this year.

Also IIRC it was the TV personalities that coined that term. Fans heard the pundits talking about "resumes" and it went off from there. I prefer "body of work" myself.
Almost everything in College Football is that way. “Power 5” and “Group of 5” were not naturally evolving references to certain conferences. One off-season ESPN invented it in their strategy room, then talked about it incessantly the following season like everyone just knew what these terms meant, and here we are. Same with the playoff, and the expanded playoff. Almost everything new in college football is manufactured and heavily media driven, to drive income.

Yep

The "Top 2" arguments this year would be legendary if this season's results had occurred in the BCS era. "Play somebody good" would be being thrown out at multiple undefeated teams. We would probably have FSU and Washington playing the role of UCF People's Champion when Georgia flattens Ohio State.

why so emotional? Did you really think it’s possible to win an argument on the internet? Relax it’s only football

I'm mostly taking it out on you, but it's not directed at you individually. Too many outside powers have taken over college football and twisted it. It's not the same as it once was. It used to be the greatest sport in this country. I still think it is, but it's not the same anymore.

In my opinion, what hurts us more than the Texas loss was the USF game. We blow them out of the water and we're likely top 6.
It created the perception, even among Alabama fans, that this was a weak football team. That is how/why Alabama started at #8 in the initial CFP ranking. And since then no one in front of you has lost. That is crazy.

Then explain to me how a two loss non divisional champion team who struggled all year long is one of the best 4 teams and should get in over any 1 loss team. Y’all are acting like this is the crime of the century and that everything was robbed by a committed. If it’s so obvious then point it out.
Easy to explain. It's "eye test" when it benefits us, and "resume" when it doesn't. Some fans justify by any means, and some fans are just as inconsistent as the playoff committee when it comes to justifying Bama being in or out.

We had already beaten Ole Miss and Tennessee when the initial rankings came out. We never should have been behind Oregon who has beaten no one. You hit the nail on the head with “perception”. The committee thinks we suck and Oregon is being treated as if they’re unbeaten.

That Texas loss is definitely hurting us. I can understand the argument that the team that wins stays ahead. You are better off losing to a sorry team that drops down and doesn't hold you back.( ie: Oklahoma beating Texas). I think most voters think Oregon is better than Texas....but if Texas had lost another game I believe voters would think Bama is better than Oregon. We just can't pass Texas....

I'm not concerned at all because the 12 team playoff will reward the first 4 with a bye, IIRC.

The 12 regular season games WILL ALWAYS MATTER just like they matter right now.

Yeah, there will be some 2 loss teams make the 12 game CFP, but I'd go out on a limb and say they also won't sniff the final 4 either. They'll likely lose in the first round and if they get past that game they'll be matched up against one of the top four teams and probably get boatraced.

"But what about the NFL's regular season not mattering as much?" someone will ask. That's a different animal because there is so much more parity in the NFL game.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe it is not the first 4 with a bye. It's the top 4 highest ranked conference champs. So theoretically, you could have a #15 ranked team with a bye week going into the playoffs. The whole 12 team structure has been jacked up as much as possible.
