Bama getting no respect

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I feel like we deserved to be dropped lower after yesterday but we’re lucky there is nothing but 2 loss teams after us.

The committee and polls don’t respect us or like us and all we did yesterday was validate their opinion.

If we get left out it will 1000% be our fault for not impressing when we had the chance.
I would be ok with this line of thought except how every other team has had unimpressive performances against big underdogs.

Why is Alabama held to a different standard?

If the coaching staff - one particular guy - would have admitted he was wrong and that Pete Golding knew less about coaching defense than the winner of a Fantasy Football league and Bill O'Brien's offense was more predictable than the Texas summer weather (it's either scorching hot or raining hot, one or the other), we might have won the championship last year.

In both cases, he may have waited too late.
We know he did on the first one.
Funny how Ole Miss held Auburn to less points than Alabama.

Listening to the talking heads this morning I can see a scenario where we beat the doggies in a close game and this year’s committee puts them in and leaves us out.
If we beat Georgia there is no way they get in over us. The only people that want to see a three peat are Georgia fans and the SEC office.

Oregon has a close loss to Wash and just beat Ore St by 24
Texas has a close loss to OU and beat TTech by 50
tOSU lost to #2/3 Mich on the road by 6

Bama lost at home by 10 and escaped defeat by 3 points to a terrible AU team.

I'm being objectively fair I think.

You are not listing all of those teams close games against inferior opponents. I don’t think so anyway.

At the end of the day someone is going to get left out and maybe it’s going to be us. I still say the longest odds are us actually beating Georgia. Let’s do that and see what happens.

With so much subjectivity involved it’s like watching Olympic gymnastics and hoping the Chinese didn't pay off or strong arm a judge.
This right here is why I have ALWAYS hated the committee.

People hated the bowls because the championship wasn’t decided on the field. Then we went to the beauty pageant approach???

CFB needs further conference consolidation and then we need to NFL-ize the postseason. And just to clarify, I was ok with the old days and the BCS. But that wasn’t good enough for most everyone else. Now we’ve destroyed this process. We have taken the amateurism out of most all of it. Might as well finish the job.

The following is a Public Service Announcement:

We beat Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium by three points.

The mighty Georgia Bulldogs beat Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium by a whopping (GASP!) seven points.

We both scored exactly 27 points against Auburn, and we almost made it 33.

So I guess we don't deserve the respect Georgia is getting.

Plus two other TD’s called back. Could have been 47 points.

I hate to say it, but I think we’re going to have to become Louisville and Oklahoma State fans.

Listening to the national experts, no one thinks we jump any of these teams, if we both win

I agree. All we will do is keep uga out. There is a lot of noise out there that the SEC is down. We also might need Washington to win to give Oregon 2 losses. Since this idiot committee thinks the PAC-2 is so great.

If all Alabama does is keep Georgia out by winning the SEC, so be it. Winning the SEC ain't nothing.
