Checking in on you Rich, trust you are improving. We still miss your wit and really need you back before fall camp. When you feel like joining in promise you won't bring up a playoff scenario, that horse has been wipped to death. Take care.

And I promise to not bring up the white helmets and houndstooth pants.:biggrin2:

Get well soon.

I talked with him tonight for a while. He is back home, with therapy visits from rehab specialists. It still is - and will continue to be - a long, hard struggle. He wanted me to convey his gratitude for everyone's prayers and well-wishes...

Earle, thanks for the update.

Rich, get well soon, buddy. The coming months are going to be great. Bama's going to dominate and *U is going to be made to squeal by the NCAA. The board is not the same without you.

Out of curiosity, can anyone tell me how old Rich is? Because of everything that has been going on with me, my trips to the cardiologist and the hematologist and every other -ologist in town, I know how scary some of this stuff can be. I have to be real careful with my meds or I'll end up peeing in the litterbox (which, you know, could be worse) instead of my own bathroom. The blood clots are gone, praise the Lord, and my heart checked out just fine but the other health issues persist, including the kidney stones for which I am taking preventative measures. So the reason I'm asking is because I see myself in similar situations when I think of what I've been through and what runs in my family. The age issue tends to put things into perspective for me.

I apologize if this is too personal a question. Even though I rarely post I do still feel some connection to this community. And to whomever talks to Rich next, please pass along my good wishes for his recovery.

-Mike

Mike, I'm 71, soon to be 72, and Rich is several years younger than I. I don't think he'd mind my saying that. As he's indicated, he's struggled with some chronic problems for years - different ones from yours...

That goes for me too, Rich. 60 days on the countdown to football, and I look forward to it...and to you being back well, and on the board! RTR!

Glad to see things are turning around. My Prayers & thoughts are with U. I know about those stones. I had Lipotripsy on both sides.
Now if they could find a cure for Crhon's I have lost 40 pounds in 2 years. Dr.'s say I need medical Mary Jane. Hope to see you posting
again soon. Godspeed.

Thanks, Earle, for the information. Unfortunately I'm afraid I'm headed in the same direction since his problems are on both sides of my family, specifically my mother and father. I end up with everything anyone in the family has ever had. I've had two lithotripsy procedures in the past two years and I've passed enough other stones to make a nice charm bracelet (including one 6mm stone that made the urologist shudder). I don't wish any of that or what Rich is going through on anyone. Again, I wish him nothing but the best and like everyone, I certainly appreciate any updates that anyone can provide.

I did have one other question that I haven't seen anywhere on here (most likely I missed it). Is there anything that we as a community could do, financially or otherwise, to help out?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike, in reverse, I think he's fixed financially all right. He has underlying problems which have nothing to do with kidney stones. I got the impression from context and his remarks that this last stone was a surprise, although I'm really not totally sure about that. Having the stone kicked off a chain of events which involved his underlying chronic problems...

Bayou, I don't get on the site much and usually post even less, but I am praying and believing for a full recovery for you. I have always enjoyed your insight, your wit, and your culinary prowess. You have always brought an essence of levity to the discussions here when things have gotten a little crazy; usually with a bit of humor or,when need be, an iron hammer. I always enjoyed your posts and am looking forward to good reports. May God bless and heal you, Rich!
